Job Description

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role at the center of Gilead’s Medical Affairs AI transformation. As Director of Global AI Product Enablement, you will own the end-to-end product strategy, roadmap, and business value realization of AI capabilities across the Medical Affairs Technology (MAT) portfolio.

You will be responsible for shaping and executing a multi-year AI product vision that translates emerging technologies—such as RAG, agentic AI, and LLM-based solutions—into scalable, high-impact products that address critical Medical Affairs needs. This includes identifying the right problems to solve, prioritizing investments, and ensuring solutions deliver measurable business outcomes and adoption.

This role operates without a direct team and requires strong influence-based leadership across a global, matrixed organization. Success depends on your ability to align senior stakeholders, define clear product priorities, and partner effectively with IT and external vendors who execute delivery.

You will partner closely with the ED of MAT and leaders across GMSO, Medical Affairs, IT, Legal, Medical Governance, and Compliance. Your ability to drive product adoption, scale solutions, and deliver measurable impact across Medical Affairs is critical to success.

What You’ll Do

Own the Medical Affairs AI Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Build, maintain, and socialize a 3-year AI product roadmap aligned to Medical Affairs strategic priorities
  • Prioritize use cases based on business value, user impact, feasibility, and scalability
  • Translate strategy into product roadmaps with defined outcomes, KPIs, and adoption targets
  • Partner with IT and continuously evaluate the AI landscape (LLMs, agents, multimodal tools) and recommend where to invest, pilot, or scale based on business needs

Drive Product Outcomes & Value Realization

  • Own end-to-end accountability for business outcomes and value delivery of AI products across the MAT portfolio
  • Define and track KPIs for adoption, user engagement, and business impact, ensuring solutions deliver measurable improvements in Medical Affairs workflows
  • Translate business needs into clear product requirements, prioritized backlogs, and user-centric use cases
  • Partner with IT and delivery teams to ensure solutions are built in alignment with product vision, success criteria, and user needs
  • Maintain a portfolio-level view focused on impact, adoption, and value realization, enabling informed prioritization and investment decisions

Lead AI Product Innovation & Technology Strategy

  • Serve as the business owner for AI product decisions, evaluating tools and platforms based on their ability to deliver business value
  • Establish structured frameworks to assess capability, compliance, scalability, and integration fit
  • Partner with IT, security, and compliance teams to ensure solutions meet enterprise standards while maintaining speed and agility
  • Build strong relationships with key vendors and stay ahead of emerging capabilities that can drive competitive advantage

Drive Adoption, Change Management & AI Fluency

  • Champion AI adoption across Medical Affairs, ensuring solutions move from concept to sustained usage
  • Engage directly with business leaders to co-create, prototype, and refine AI products
  • Design and lead enablement programs that move teams from awareness to active adoption and value realization
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, clearly articulating what AI can and cannot deliver in a regulated environment
  • Promote a culture of data- and AI-driven decision-making across the organization

What You Bring

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field + 12+ years of experience, or Master’s degree + 10+ years of experience in AI, data, or digital product roles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) in a technical or business discipline
  • Experience in life sciences, Medical Affairs, clinical, or commercial domains
  • Proven track record of owning AI or digital product strategy, roadmap, and value delivery in a regulated environment
  • Hands-on familiarity with modern AI technologies (RAG, LLMs, agentic frameworks) with the ability to translate capabilities into business solutions
  • Experience working with IT and system integrators as delivery partners, while maintaining accountability for product direction and outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across a global, matrixed organization
  • Strong understanding of AI governance, compliance, and responsible AI principles
  • Experience defining and tracking product success metrics and business impact
  • Familiarity with Medical Affairs workflows and the ability to translate domain needs into scalable AI products

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
