Gilroy GMC is seeking a dedicated and motivated Sales Representative & Internet Sales professional to join our team in Gilroy, CA. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop a career within a reputable automotive dealership, providing outstanding service to our valued customers both in person and through online channels. The position offers a competitive compensation of $16.50 per hour + commission.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers to understand their vehicle needs and preferences, offering expert guidance and product knowledge.
  • Manage internet sales inquiries promptly and professionally, ensuring timely follow-up and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate and facilitate test drives, vehicle demonstrations, and sales transactions in compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and sales documentation within the dealership’s CRM system.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and management to achieve established sales targets and contribute to overall dealership success.
  • Stay informed about current automotive industry trends, product updates, and competitor activities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in automotive sales or a related customer service role is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse customers.
  • Proficiency in managing online sales platforms and digital communication tools.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, demonstrating a commitment to providing exceptional customer experiences.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic dealership environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Approach and greet customer with a smile and positive attitude. Build rapport to determine the needs of the customer by listening and asking questions.
  • Assist customers in selecting a vehicle by asking questions and listening carefully to their responses.
  • Explain product performance, application, and benefits to prospects.
  • Describe all optional equipment available for customer purchase.
  • Build strong rapport with customers.
  • Perform high-quality, professional, and knowledgeable presentation and demonstration of new/used vehicles.
  • Learn to overcome objections, close sales, and perform all other steps of the sales process in accordance with company standards.
  • Report to the Sales Manager regarding objectives, planned activities, reviews, and analysis.
  • Respond to and or resolve customer issues related to orders and products.
  • Maintain professional growth and development by keeping abreast of product knowledge.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Comfortable with compensation based on commission sales
  • Enthusiastic with high energy throughout the sales workday
  • Outgoing with a friendly personality, especially while handling objections & negotiating pricing
  • Possess strong communication skills
  • Must have a clean & valid driver’s license
