We have an immediate need for a Program Manager position in the Greater Pittsburgh region. With a focus on leading direct services for GIGP's Eureka! year-round and summer programming, this full-time, non-exempt position plays a key role in delivering high-quality programming. The salary range for the Program Manager role is $50,000 - $55,000, commensurate with experience. The Program Manager is eligible to participate in GIGP's benefits package, which includes a retirement savings plan and generous paid time off.

What we’re looking for

Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Program Manager is an essential member of the GIGP Team with hands-on experience in facilitating elementary and middle school programs. The Program Manager oversees the planning, implementation, and quality of assigned Girls Inc. programming, including Eureka!, school- based, and community-based initiatives. This position supervises program staff, coordinates site operations, develops age-appropriate curriculum, maintains community partnerships, and supports program growth to ensure girls have access to safe, engaging, Strong, Smart, and Bold experiences. The Program Manager works collaboratively with the Programs team on department-wide events and initiatives to foster a supportive, girl-centered environment while helping to develop critical skills in leadership, self-confidence, and academic success.

Given that this role will work in a hybrid work model and report one to two days per week in the office, only candidates who are based within commuting distance of the GIGP office will be given consideration.

The primary responsibilities and duties of the Program Manager position include the following essential functions:

  • Coordinate program logistics, including staffing, materials, participant registration, and family communication.
  • Plan and coordinate monthly Eureka! sessions and additional enrichment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with STEM staff, Program Facilitators, and community partners to develop meaningful STEM and leadership experiences.
  • Develop and distribute a monthly Eureka! newsletter to participants and families, providing program updates, upcoming events, opportunities, and important announcements.
  • Attend field trips and conduct program observations each semester to monitor program quality, participant engagement, and overall effectiveness.
  • Address concerns, troubleshoot challenges, and ensure all Eureka! programming environments remain safe, welcoming, and supportive for participants and staff.
  • Monitor participant engagement, attendance, and program outcomes to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee internship planning, placements, and participant experiences.

Eureka! Summer Programming (mid-June - July annually)

  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and implementation of the three-week Eureka! summer program in collaboration with the Director of Programs.
  • Develop summer programming schedules, staffing assignments, and implementation timelines in alignment with established program goals and budgets.
  • Coordinate curriculum implementation, program materials, enrichment activities, field trips, and guest speakers.
  • Supervise summer program staff, provide ongoing support, and ensure effective daily program operations.
  • Maintain full, on-site availability during the three-week summer program (Monday–Friday, approximately 8:15 am – 4:45 pm)
  • Ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging program environment, addressing operational challenges and escalating concerns when necessary.
  • Coordinate participant registration, family communication, and program logistics in collaboration with designated staff.
  • Support the planning and implementation of the End-of-Summer Eureka! celebration.
  • Monitor program participation, quality, and outcomes, providing recommendations for future programming.

Program Administration, Community Engagement & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) department to support research, data collection, program assessments, and evaluation initiatives.
  • Participate in recruitment events, community outreach activities, and other opportunities to increase program awareness and enrollment across elementary, middle, and high school programming.
  • Engage with parents, guardians, and community members to promote Girls Inc. programming, communicate program opportunities, and encourage participation.
  • Represent GIGP at school events, community meetings, resource fairs, and other outreach opportunities.
  • Support the development and implementation of new program initiatives, pilot programs, and special projects as assigned.
  • Collaborate with fellow Program Managers and department staff to address program needs, share resources, and support consistent program delivery.
  • Maintain accurate program documentation, attendance records, and required reporting in accordance with organizational expectations.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and organizational training.
  • Support additional programming, special events, and organizational initiatives as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support GIGP's evolving needs and priorities.

Site Operations and Supervision

  • Meet weekly with Program Facilitators to review program delivery, site needs, staff development, and upcoming priorities.
  • Establish and maintain work schedules, Program Facilitator site assignments, and staff coverage plans.
  • Oversee assigned school and community sites, maintain site relationships, monitor program quality, and address implementation challenges.
  • Coordinate substitute coverage and step in to facilitate programming or provide on-site support when staff absences, scheduling conflicts, or operational needs require it.
