Position Summary: The primary responsibility for the Fluid Power Controls Engineer is providing the design, development, maintenance, documentation and troubleshooting for pneumatic, hydraulic, lubrication and coolant control systems for gear manufacturing machines. Job Responsibilities:
Provide all aspects of engineering for the pneumatic and hydraulic control systems for multi-axes gear manufacturing machines. Design, development, maintenance, documentation and troubleshooting of gear manufacturing machines. Work with other engineering groups (Electrical Controls, Mechanical, Software and Applications Engineering) to facilitate a Systems Engineering approach to machine design. Work with Proposals and Sales to understand Customer Specifications and applicable Safety Standards to develop machine cost and schedule estimates. Use ePlan for system Schematics and BOM creation. Use Creo for 3D modeling of components and systems. Maintain Schematic Masters and Master BOMs for current and legacy machines. Provide custom designs for Fluid Power Control Systems including appropriately sizing components. Ensure unique Customer Specifications are incorporated into each design. Based on the region of the customer, ensure all applicable US or International Safety Standards and Design Standards (ie: ANSI, ISO/TC 131) are incorporated into the design. Develop fluid power systems with suppliers such as Hoffmann, Parker, Rexroth and/or any of a multitude of fluid power suppliers. Provide part specification changes (Engineering Change Order) based on customer interactions. Interface with Assembly Methods to apply the appropriate part coding and documentation to facilitate efficient machine assembly. Prioritizes and addresses engineering issues in a timely manner from Assembly, Runoff, Field Service or Supply Chain. Facilitates Design Reviews, FMEAs and Risk Management meetings by coordinating the meeting, recording/ publishing meeting minutes, formalizing documents, and driving the completion of open action items.
