The posting
Principal Objective
Reporting to Head of Operations, the Project Manager will be responsible for the successful planning, coordination and delivery of assigned capital, engineering, construction, process improvement and operational projects across Glennon Brothers. The role will manage projects from initial design and specification through procurement, contractor coordination, installation, commissioning, handover and post-project review. The Project Manager will ensure that each project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, to the required technical specification and in line with business, operational, environmental and compliance requirements.
Working closely with site leadership, engineering, production, finance, health and safety, environmental teams, contractors and senior management, the Project Manager will play a key role in supporting continued investment, operational improvement and sustainable growth across the Group. The role will require strong project management capability, practical engineering knowledge, contractor management experience and the ability to lead multiple projects across different sites, functions and stages of the project lifecycle. This reflects the scope of the previous role, which included multiple projects running simultaneously across locations in Ireland and Scotland.

– Degree-qualified in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, construction management, project management or a related technical discipline. A Level 8 mechanical engineering degree was referenced in the previous profile, with other engineering and science disciplines considered depending on practical experience.
– Proven experience managing engineering, capital investment, construction, manufacturing, sawmilling, timber processing, timber frame, industrial automation or heavy industry projects.
– Experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, process, production, maintenance, health and safety and contractor teams.
– Demonstrable experience managing projects through the full project lifecycle, including design, specification, budgeting, procurement, contractor selection, installation, commissioning, handover and close-out.
– Strong working knowledge of project planning, cost control, budget forecasting, programme management, risk management and change control.
– Experience managing contractors, suppliers, consultants and external specialists in a live manufacturing, engineering, sawmill, timber frame or construction products environment.
– Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, planning, building, construction and regulatory requirements relevant to industrial and manufacturing projects.
– Experience working with project management tools, CAD packages, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office and relevant project reporting systems. The previous profile identified AutoCAD, MS Project and MS Office as essential.
– Understanding of PSDP and PSCS requirements, construction safety, building services or project management qualifications would be advantageous, as these areas were referenced in the previous profile.
– Experience in mechanical handling, material transport, energy generation, industrial drying, packaging, automation, sawmill equipment, timber processing or high-volume manufacturing environments would be beneficial. The previous profile referenced heavy industry project experience in mechanical handling, material transport, energy generation, industrial drying and packaging.
– Ability to manage multiple projects across different sites while maintaining clear priorities, strong governance and effective stakeholder communication.
– Commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets, assess cost implications, support procurement decisions and challenge project assumptions constructively.
– Strong understanding of continuous improvement, sustainability, operational efficiency and engineering reliability within a manufacturing environment.
