Why Join The Glens Falls Hospital Emergency Team?

  • Top-Tier Earnings: Maximize your take-home pay with competitive base rates and up to 30% shift differentials for evening and night shifts
  • State-of-the-Art Facility: Work in our newly expanded, renovated Sheridan Emergency Department featuring a massive footprint, advanced private treatment suites, and optimized workflow environments (fully opening in early 2027).
  • RN Career Fast-Track: Direct, preferred gateway into our accredited Magnet® recognized Nurse Residency Program for nursing students and future RNs.
  • Advanced Clinical Training: Complete, fully paid on-the-job training in high-acuity skills, including phlebotomy, 12-lead EKGs, and emergency splinting.

The Impact You Can Make

We are seeking ambitious EMTs, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and Nursing Students to join our high-velocity Emergency Department. Working under the direct mentorship of Registered Nurses, you will serve as the critical, first-level line of patient care. This is not a standard floor role—this is a fast-paced clinical position where you will respond to life-saving emergencies and directly influence patient outcomes every single day.

Glens Falls Hospital is actively expanding and renovating the Sheridan Emergency Department to better support both patients and staff. The project includes a significantly larger footprint, enhanced private treatment areas, and improved patient flow. Portions of the renovated space are already open, with full completion anticipated in early 2027; all while the Emergency Department remains fully operational.

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential (Responsibilities)

  • Monitor and record critical patient vital signs accurately
  • Perform advanced diagnostics including 12-lead EKG collection and phlebotomy
  • Apply orthopedic splints and set up specialized procedural equipment
  • Deploy as an active responder for critical hospital alerts
  • Manage behavioral health populations utilizing expert, annual de-escalation techniques
  • Provide essential daily care, including patient ambulation, positioning, toileting, and safe transport via stretcher or wheelchair
  • Ensure patient safety through proactive, documented direct observation safety sits and appropriate restraint application when clinically required
  • Maintain rigorous safety standards by conducting equipment safety checks and specialized decontamination protocol execution
  • Coordinate logistical flow of blood products, labs, non-narcotic medications, oxygen tanks, and essential clinical supplies
  • Uphold infection prevention mandates and strict HIPAA confidentiality guidelines at all times

What You Bring (Qualifications)

Education & Core Training

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strongly Preferred: Hands-on, patient-facing experience in a hospital environment.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with foundational medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology

Licenses & Certifications: Current BLS Certification (or obtained at time of hire)

Skills/Abilities

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interface with clinical teams
  • High autonomy to perform routine and critical responsibilities in a flexible, self-directed manner
  • Ability to read technical policies and use clinical math skills to compute metrics related to patient care

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
