The posting

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager – Molecular Diagnostics to lead product strategy, development, and commercialization activities for molecular diagnostic and related assay portfolios in the U.S. market.

This role will work closely with customers, key opinion leaders (KOLs), R&D, commercial, operations, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality/regulatory teams to translate market and customer needs into product requirements, development priorities, and successful product launches.

The ideal candidate combines a strong scientific background in molecular biology and molecular diagnostics with hands-on experience in product management, cross-functional project execution, and commercialization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define product strategy, roadmap priorities, and portfolio direction for molecular diagnostics and related product lines.
  • Translate customer needs, market trends, competitive insights, and laboratory workflow requirements into clear product requirements.
  • Manage the product lifecycle, including new product introduction, product upgrades, localization, customization, and phase-out planning.
  • Partner with R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, operations, quality/regulatory, and commercial teams to drive product development and launch activities.
  • Serve as a key interface between U.S. customers and global R&D teams, ensuring alignment on technical requirements, priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Support molecular diagnostic workflows including specimen collection, sample preparation, nucleic acid extraction, amplification, interpretation, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with scientific and technical teams on assay/panel design, performance targets, cutoff criteria, usability, acceptance criteria, and product transfer readiness.
  • Identify product risks, workflow challenges, usability gaps, and technical issues and coordinate cross-functional resolution.
  • Support OEM, customized, and localized product opportunities for customers, partners, and distributors.
  • Partner with commercial teams and KOLs to gather market feedback and continuously improve product-market fit.
  • Develop product documentation, training materials, technical presentations, and customer-facing product information.
  • Track project milestones, risks, action items, and dependencies to ensure timely execution.
  • Use AI and productivity tools to improve product documentation, customer-feedback analysis, reporting, and internal workflows while maintaining appropriate accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance standards.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Molecular Biology, Biology, Biomedical Science, Clinical Medicine, Microbiology, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • 3–5+ years of relevant experience in molecular diagnostics, IVD, LDT, biotechnology, life sciences, or a related technical product environment.
  • Strong technical understanding of PCR, qPCR, NGS, nucleic acid testing, assay development, and molecular diagnostic workflows.
  • Experience in product management, technical product management, product development, or product commercialization.
  • Proven ability to translate customer, market, and technical requirements into product requirements, project plans, and launch activities.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and project management skills.
  • Experience working with customers, KOLs, commercial teams, technical teams, or external partners.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both highly technical/scientific stakeholders and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with molecular diagnostic assays, clinical laboratory workflows, or IVD products.
  • Experience supporting U.S. product launches, product localization, or commercialization activities.
  • Experience working with global or cross-border R&D and manufacturing teams.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and quality considerations associated with diagnostic or life-science products.
  • Experience with tools such as Microsoft 365, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Teams, or similar project and collaboration platforms.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a scientifically strong, commercially minded product leader who can bridge customers, laboratory workflows, R&D, and business teams. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys turning complex scientific and market requirements into practical products and driving those products from concept through commercialization.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
