Production Maintenance Technician III (San Clemente, CA)

Join a fast-paced manufacturing environment where you'll play a critical role in maintaining the equipment and systems that support production operations. As a Production Maintenance Technician III, you will independently troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production, laboratory, and facility equipment to maximize reliability, minimize downtime, and help ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
What You'll Do
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production, laboratory, and facility equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control system issues to quickly restore equipment performance.
- Diagnose equipment failures, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Support production equipment including ovens, sealing systems, automated carousel systems, cold storage units, and other facility-related systems.
- Install, relocate, modify, and commission equipment as business needs evolve.
- Create and maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Partner closely with Manufacturing, Facilities, Quality, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to resolve equipment issues and support operational goals.
- Coordinate external vendors and contractors for maintenance, repair, and installation activities.
- Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance materials to support equipment uptime.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and enhance maintenance processes.
- Operate forklifts, light-duty vehicles, and other maintenance-related equipment as needed.
What You'll Bring
- 4+ years of progressively responsible equipment maintenance experience within manufacturing, industrial, laboratory, cleanroom, or regulated production environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving mechanical systems, electrical components, controls, sensors, instrumentation, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment and automated manufacturing systems.
- Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for maintenance planning, work orders, and equipment history tracking.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, equipment manuals, technical drawings, and P&ID documentation.
- Experience performing root-cause investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Understanding of preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability best practices.
- Familiarity with quality systems, documentation requirements, and regulated manufacturing environments.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize competing demands.
- Flexibility to support off-shift or weekend work when required.
Education & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical, trade, or vocational training in electrical systems, electronics, automation, equipment maintenance, mechanical systems, or a related discipline preferred.
- Relevant maintenance certifications are a plus.
