Job Title: Founding Engineer – AI-Powered Web Products Location: Onsite – SoMa, San Francisco, CA Employment Type: Full-Time Salary Range: $130,000 – $200,000 per year Equity: 1% – 1.5%

About the Role

We’re looking for a high-agency, full-stack engineer to help build and shape a new generation of AI-native products. This is a foundational role designed for someone who thrives in fast-paced, early-stage environments, cares deeply about product quality, and wants to work at the intersection of engineering, design, and AI.

You’ll help define architecture, ship features across the stack, and design agent-powered workflows that are already changing how people interact with the web. If you’re looking for extreme ownership, rapid growth, and the chance to build truly innovative systems, this is your opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Product Development: Design, build, and ship high-impact features across the stack using React, TypeScript, Node, and serverless platforms (Supabase, Railway).
  • Agent Workflows: Develop and iterate on agent-driven systems that interface directly with real users in AI-powered environments.
  • Architecture Leadership: Help define and evolve the technical architecture to ensure performance, scalability, and developer velocity.
  • Customer Collaboration: Work closely with users to gather feedback, improve UX, and validate features in real-time.
  • Product Direction: Partner with leadership to influence the roadmap and align technical execution with business goals.
  • Startup Building: Operate as a true owner, taking responsibility for outcomes and contributing to a high-performing, founder-style culture.

Our Stack

  • Frontend: React, TypeScript, Tailwind
  • Backend: Node.js (primarily serverless), Supabase, Railway
  • Deployment: Serverless architecture with rapid iteration cycles

Note: Deep expertise in every tool is not required. We care more about your ability to build and learn quickly than specific tech.

What We’re Looking For

  • A history of building and shipping ambitious technical products, whether at a startup, as a solo developer, or in an elite team.
  • Strong full-stack engineering skills, with the ability to quickly ship high-quality features.
  • A founder mindset—you move fast, take ownership, and aren’t afraid to work through chaos.
  • Evidence of being an extreme outlier—whether through: Founding or helping scale a startup Attending a top-tier technical university (MIT, Stanford, Harvard, etc.) Participating in elite programs (YC, Thiel, Recurse Center, etc.) Creating viral open-source or solo projects with real traction
  • A deep desire to solve real problems with AI and change how people navigate the internet.

Signs This Role Might Be Right for You

  • You’ve built something meaningful from scratch—code, a product, a company.
  • You’re energized by autonomy, ownership, and solving tough problems.
  • You thrive in rapid learning environments with constant feedback loops.
  • You care about impact and want to build something with real utility.

This Role Might Not Be a Fit If…

  • You prefer low-intensity or slow-moving work environments.
  • You need a rigid structure or dislike ambiguity.
  • You’re uncomfortable with fast feedback, experimentation, and iteration.

What We Offer

  • A front-row seat to building a product that redefines web interaction in the age of AI
  • Deep technical and product ownership from Day 1
  • Competitive salary + meaningful equity (1–1.5%)
  • High-trust, high-performance culture where exceptional people thrive
  • A fun, mission-driven environment with smart, passionate teammates

Location Requirement

This role is onsite in San Francisco, CA. We believe close collaboration is key at this stage and prioritize in-person velocity.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
