The AMRAAM C9/D4 Execution Chief Engineer will assist with the technical leadership of the multi-disciplined development teams for development of the AIM-120-C9 and D4 configurations. The C9/D4 Execution Chief Engineer will work closely with other Chief Engineers and frequently interface with internal and external stakeholders, technical subject matter experts, key major suppliers and government customers. The role requires a high level of execution expertise coupled with the ability to lead a high visibility development program which includes Guidance Section and All Up Round IPT, Digital IPT, Data Link Electronics IPT, Target Detection Device IPT, Integration Labs IPT, Shared Services IPT, and all cross-product teams. The current scope is approximately $500M with expected growth to $1.5B.
This position is an onsite role in Tucson, AZ.
What You Will Do
- Establish and manage a product vision, strategy, and goals to align with multiple Programs/Customers and facilitate conflict resolution.
- Ensure technical integrity and engineering execution across the IPTs and other functions to meet and/or exceed cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
- Primary technical point of contact with internal senior program management and engineering leadership.
- Influence and align internal and external customers on the technical capabilities, technical risks and common architecture needs.
- Plan out and lead the incremental break-in of upgrades and system improvements.
- Drive positive change within the production environment as a key stakeholder in Failure Review Boards, FRACAS activities and other continuous improvement efforts.
- Technically engage with major subcontractors and partners to ensure product deliverables.
- Direct a team of multi-disciplined engineers in support of product development and production.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
- Experience in leading large technical teams who can develop work plans and drive execution.
- Experience with system development and design, requirements development, management, verification, system integration and test, and production.
- Experience working on modular systems architectures and product lines.
- Active and transferable Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance is required before start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Prior experience with AMRAAM® programs.
- Test Driven, Multidisciplinary Capability management experience.
- Experience in leading teams using Agile methods.
- Demonstrated leadership experience showing the ability to collaborate with program office, cross-functional teams, and internal/external customers.
- Experience in managing multi-disciplinary team of 50+ members.
- Strong influential communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present analytic and performance results from program to executive and/or functional leadership.
- Experience in large program execution.
- Raytheon Chief Engineer Level 4 or higher.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
