The Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op will work both individually as well as on cross-functional teams to complete a variety of projects focused on improving safety and quality, reducing cost, and increasing on-time delivery (OTD) in a high precision manufacturing facility. This may include implementing lean operations such as setting up product flow, KANBAN, and FIFO, CAD modeling, automation research and implementation, performing time observations, and data collection and analysis.
Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August (including the Spring semester); it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity.
What You Will Do:
- Assists with preparing quality related items and documentation to ensure that established quality standards are met.
- Collaborate in compiling information on cell performance and productivity so that manufacturing performance can be analyzed.
- Research, review and test techniques for efficiency and planning
- Help identify operational issues by studying functional and performance systems
What You Will Learn:
- Gain knowledge of the sequencing of work such as build and delivery, to ensure smooth operations and optimal use of resources.
- Leadership and Coordination: Developing strong leadership skills to coordinate across teams and ensure project efficiency is essential.
- Attention to Detail and Compliance: Understanding the importance of meticulous documentation and adherence to standards in engineering practices is critical for success.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
- Experience in CAD Modeling
- Experience in automation/robotics, 3D modeling of tooling and fixtures
Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
