What You Will Do

The Mechanical Engineer I supports the design, development and production support areas associated with mechanical designs, validation principals, qualification processes, procurement, and production processes across a design life cycle. Development work may include requirements understanding, concept development, DFMAs, PFMAs, margin analysis, technical data package (TDP) development, application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principals, engineering test principals, preparation of technical analysis reports, and presenting in design reviews.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical execution of tasks, recommending solutions to a wide range of complex technical problems related to the design, manufacture, integration, and production sustainment of various mechanical sub-systems both in the engineering lab and the factory floor both at Raytheon Technologies and at suppliers.
  • Contributing to first article inspections
  • Work instruction reviews
  • Material dispositions, and root cause investigations to production issues.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience with 3D CAD tools (modeling and drawing)
  • Experience with interpreting assembly and/or component drawings

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.5
  • Proficient in Creo (modeling and drawing) and Windchill (PDM)
  • Mechanical aptitude to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in teams or independently, flexible, demonstrates initiative.

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
