With over a century of exceptional engineering expertise, we address today’s mission-critical needs while anticipating and staying ahead of tomorrow’s challenges. Our teams engage in meaningful and technically challenging work that contributes to creating a safer and more secure world

What You Will Do

Join Raytheon's dynamic Test Solutions Engineering team, part of the Hardware Discipline Center, where we architect and deliver high-reliability test equipment vital to national defense. In this role, you will design, analyze, prototype, and implement advanced mechanical test fixtures and environmental test stations supporting complex weapon systems across their entire lifecycle—from early engineering development and high-rate factory production to field operations and long-term sustainment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, plan, and design custom mechanical test solutions for vibration, thermal, hydraulic, radio frequency (RF), and electro-optical operational environments.
  • Conceptualize and implement mechanical systems that integrate seamlessly with state-of-the-art test technologies.
  • Utilize parametric CAD solid modeling tools to create comprehensive 3D assemblies and detailed 2D engineering drawing packages.
  • Ensure all technical data packages adhere strictly to industry drafting standards, including ASME Y14 series or ISO geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Integrate and validate test systems against stringent accuracy, repeatability, and reliability requirements.
  • Evaluate production installations and collaborate with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams to diagnose malfunctions and implement design enhancements.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline. Degree must be obtained by start date.
  • Experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software (such as SolidWorks, PTC Creo, Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, Siemens NX, or equivalent) to generate 3D models and mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience creating or maintaining mechanical hardware documentation and engineering drawings adhering to industry drafting standards (such as ASME Y14 series or ISO).
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechatronics.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Experience with Model Based Engineering (MBE) or Model Based Definition (MBD).
  • Previous hands-on testing, prototyping, or production support experience in an aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and root-cause problem-solving skills applied to mechanical fixtures or test equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary, fast-paced team setting.

What We Offer

  • Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. At RTX we value: Safety, Trust, Respect, Accountability, Collaboration, and Innovation.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
