The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Lead Engineer – Repair Engineering based in India.

Are you an experienced aerospace engineer passionate about solving complex technical challenges and improving aircraft safety and reliability? In this role, you will develop innovative repair solutions for commercial aircraft nacelle structures, helping airlines minimize downtime and return aircraft to service safely and efficiently. You will apply your expertise in metallic and composite materials, engineering design, and airworthiness requirements to resolve critical in-service issues. Working closely with airline customers, aircraft manufacturers, suppliers, and global engineering teams, you will deliver practical, technically sound solutions that meet demanding operational and regulatory standards. You will also contribute to fleet-wide improvements, support aftermarket engineering activities, and help enhance the customer experience across commercial aviation programs. This opportunity offers a collaborative, international engineering environment where technical judgment, creativity, and precision have a direct impact on aircraft performance and operational reliability.

Accountabilities:

  • Repair Engineering and Design: Develop and validate repair solutions for commercial aircraft nacelle hardware, addressing medium- to high-complexity technical issues involving metallic and composite structures.
  • In-Service Technical Support: Assess airline requirements, investigate aircraft maintenance concerns, and provide timely engineering guidance to resolve operational issues and minimize aircraft downtime.
  • Engineering Assessment and Disposition: Analyze technical discrepancies, determine appropriate corrective actions, and provide engineering dispositions that support the safe and efficient return of aircraft to service.
  • Technical Documentation Review: Review maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, installation details, and related technical documentation to identify appropriate repair approaches and resolve customer concerns.
  • Structural Analysis and Repair Development: Apply engineering judgment and technical expertise to develop repair designs for metallic and composite structures, considering material properties, structural integrity, inspection methods, and common defect mechanisms.
  • Regulatory and Airworthiness Compliance: Ensure repair recommendations comply with certified aircraft type designs, applicable airworthiness requirements, and relevant FAA and EASA regulations.
  • Customer and Stakeholder Collaboration: Communicate directly with airline customers and coordinate with aircraft manufacturers, engine manufacturers, suppliers, aftermarket support managers, and spare-parts teams to evaluate technical data and resolve complex issues.
  • Fleet-Wide Solutions: Identify recurring in-service problems and proactively develop repair approaches that can address broader fleet requirements and improve maintenance efficiency.
  • Aftermarket Engineering Support: Contribute to aftermarket technical services by resolving customer issues, supporting repair and maintenance activities, and helping deliver reliable engineering solutions.
  • Technical Coordination and Prioritization: Manage multiple repair requests simultaneously, prioritize urgent customer needs, and deliver accurate engineering solutions within short turnaround times.
  • Documentation and Process Compliance: Maintain appropriate repair documentation, follow established engineering procedures, and comply with applicable export control requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with a globally distributed engineering team to improve repair processes, strengthen technical support capabilities, and enhance airline customer satisfaction.
  • Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Professional Experience: Typically 6–10 years of relevant experience in aerospace engineering, repair engineering, structural design, aftermarket technical support, or a similar role.
  • Repair Engineering Expertise: Strong knowledge of repair development for metallic and/or composite aircraft structures, including common structural defects, inspection techniques, repair methods, and engineering assessment practices.
  • Aircraft Maintenance Knowledge: Understanding of commercial aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) processes, retrofit activities, technical documentation, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Airworthiness and Regulatory Standards: Familiarity with FAA and EASA requirements and associated repair documentation, including the implications of certified type design and airworthiness compliance.
  • Technical Documentation: Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance and engineering publications, such as Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM), Structural Repair Manuals (SRM), Service Bulletins (SB), and Airworthiness Directives (AD).
  • Nacelle Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with nacelle systems and their components on commercial aircraft is preferred, including legacy platforms and newer programs such as the Boeing 787, Airbus A320neo, and Airbus A350.
  • CAD and Engineering Tools: Strong working knowledge of CATIA V5, particularly part design, assembly design, and surface design. Experience with CATIA CPD/CPE, Fibersim for composite design, and ENOVIA is an advantage.
  • Aftermarket and Customer Support: Previous experience in an aftermarket customer support engineering organization is desirable, along with the ability to communicate technical solutions clearly to airline customers and other stakeholders.
  • Concessions and Structural Experience: Experience handling engineering concessions involving aircraft wings, fuselage structures, or related components in metallic and composite materials is beneficial.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics is an advantage.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to investigate complex structural issues and develop practical, defensible repair solutions.
  • Communication and Presentation: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical findings, present engineering recommendations, and coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Organization and Time Management: Ability to prioritize competing demands, manage several repair tasks concurrently, and deliver accurate work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: A collaborative working style, flexibility, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, internationally coordinated engineering environment.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to work day shifts and participate in rotational weekend or holiday coverage when required to support urgent customer needs.
  • Compliance and Professionalism: Commitment to engineering quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and applicable export control obligations.
  • Full-Time Employment: A permanent engineering position offering the opportunity to contribute to complex commercial aerospace programs.
  • Hybrid Working Arrangement: A combination of onsite and offsite work, with the required onsite presence determined in coordination with the manager.
  • Advanced Technical Exposure: Opportunities to work on commercial aircraft nacelle systems, metallic and composite structures, and complex repair engineering challenges.
  • International Collaboration: Work with global engineering colleagues, airline customers, aircraft manufacturers, suppliers, and aftermarket support teams.
  • Professional Development: Build expertise in structural repair design, airworthiness compliance, aerospace engineering documentation, and advanced CAD tools.
  • Meaningful Engineering Impact: Help improve aircraft availability, operational efficiency, structural reliability, and aviation safety through timely and effective repair solutions.
  • Technical Career Growth: Develop advanced engineering judgment and contribute to complex technical decisions, continuous improvement, and organizational engineering objectives.
  • Collaborative Work Environment: Join a multidisciplinary engineering setting that values technical excellence, innovation, knowledge sharing, and teamwork.
  • Inclusive Workplace: Benefit from an equal-opportunity recruitment and employment approach that values diverse perspectives and provides fair consideration to qualified applicants.
  • Employee Support: Opportunities to request reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process to support accessibility and participation.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
