We are hiring a Senior Principal Systems Engineer (P5) for our growing Avionics FPGA/ASIC team in Melbourne, FL. This unique position requires a combination of strong software and Systems engineering background and expertise. In this role you would develop concepts, architecture, requirements and design of an analysis tool to support the characterization of the processor interference channels following AC 20-193 guidance that specifies requirements for using multicore processors in airborne Systems.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead Perform multi-core analysis aligned with AC‑20‑193 guidance on a multi‑core system.
  • Develop or execute micro‑benchmarks/benchmarks on the target multi‑core system.
  • Analyze system performance and undesired behavior caused by hardware or software interference and drive mitigation solutions.
  • Travel up to 10%

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
  • Non-US Person - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company’s immigration sponsorship now or in the future. The company will not offer immigration sponsorship for this position. The company will not seek an export authorization for this role.
  • Experience with multi‑core processor products in safety-critical environments.
  • Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) experience in safety‑critical environments.
  • Embedded hardware development and verification experience.
  • Experience or knowledge of AC‑20‑193 (previously CAST‑32A).
  • Experience defining hardware interference channels.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Embedded system design and verification experience.
  • Experience analyzing system behavior and performance impacts in multi‑core architectures.
  • Background developing benchmarks or micro‑benchmarks for embedded systems to test and analyze a multi-core platform.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
