What You Will Do:
Join us as a Sr. Principal Test and Validation Engineer in Manufacturing Design, where you'll drive technical test support from development through production across multiple programs. Leverage your expertise to shape manufacturing test strategies, boost product producibility, and influence key program decisions for successful new product introductions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Serving as the manufacturing test authority across multiple programs.
- Leading the implementation and maturation of production manufacturing test solutions across the portfolio.
- Demonstrated leadership in defining enterprise-level test strategies and architecture, driving test readiness, capacity, and maturity improvements, and shaping testing practices across programs and manufacturing sites through influence and collaboration.
- Managing large scale design, control, and improvements to the manufacturing process.
- Recommending engineering design requirements tailored to manufacturing processes.
- Recommending process and procedural changes to ensure that objectives in the areas of cost, efficiency, and quality are met.
- Ensuring that quality control procedures adequately evaluate an organization's products.
- Leading Continuous Process Improvements to enhance cycle time, automate, reduce costs (both direct and indirect) using Six Sigma/CORE principles and data driven decision making.
- Applying test engineering skillsets across the extended value stream to optimize and mature the manufacturing test strategy.
- Leveraging knowledge and technical skills to influence business decisions from new designs through transition to production.
- Designing, controlling, and improving the testability of products through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team, identifying and resolving test constraints across multiple programs.
- Developing influential relationships with internal customers.
- Supporting Operational Security (OPSEC) plan execution and influencing future security strategies affecting hardware deliveries.
- Supporting the development of clear schedules, priorities and goals for each factory and key suppliers via Supply Chain partners.
- Leading, collaborating and influencing quality and performance of a mix of Manufacturing Operations and Engineering program deliverables focused on establishing and maturing manufacturing value streams across multiple factories.
- Participating in strategic planning for current development and future production.
- Leading cross-factory strategic improvement projects.
- Mentoring, coaching, and training other MDTEs and/or PTEs.
- Leading cross-functional program strategic initiatives.
This job is posted as ONSITE, and is based at Raytheon’s Tucson, AZ facility.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically Requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
- Leadership experience in a fast paced technical or manufacturing environment.
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders to help drive decisions on manufacturing test strategy.
- Experience with factory Test Equipment development and prove-in processes
- Ability to work on programs requiring special program access.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
- Experience developing test flows and contributing to test capacity analysis
- Innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement and keeps pace with advances in technology

- Experience with technical writing and interpreting and improving technical drawings and communicating technical information to different audiences

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
