Join our highly visible team and perform technically challenging assignments, which will closely contribute to protecting our nation and our products. We are seeking a Senior Systems Security (Cybersecurity) Engineer to function as a key contributor for the Product Cybersecurity Organization (PCO) team.

As a member of the High Band Mission Application Software (HBMAS) Systems Security Engineering (SSE) team, you will develop solutions to secure the Warfighter’s technical advantage. The SSE team creates comprehensive security solutions by leveraging multiple disciplines, including Anti-Tamper (AT), Software and Hardware Assurance, Cryptography, and Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM), to implement robust program protection across various systems.

This role will be worked onsite in Aurora, CO and requires an active TS/SCI clearance. Relocation assistance is not available.

What You Will Do:

  • Support the development of RMF documents and controls validation testing for Authorizations to Operate (ATOs)
  • Ensure proposed system changes are reviewed and implemented to ensure that system modifications do not adversely affect the security of the system
  • Implement security improvements by assessing the current situation; evaluating trends; and anticipating requirements
  • Support the development of cybersecurity requirements, design and architecture artifacts, plans, and policies
  • Analyze collected cybersecurity data and test results
  • Have hands-on technical duties and will provide on-site security engineering, systems administration, and cybersecurity support to the program
  • Work with the Software Engineering and/or System Engineering teams to implement cybersecurity policies, harden the system, and document findings
  • CONUS/OCONUS travel (up to 25%)

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
  • DoDM 8140.03 compliant certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or equivalent)
  • Experience in Security Technical Implementation Guidance (STIG) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) as described in NIST Special Publication 800-37 and DoD Instruction 8510.01
  • Experience with Systems Security Engineering requirements, specifications, and practice implementing DoD and Federal Assessment and Authorization (A&A) Processes and cybersecurity controls and developing and maintaining associated A&A documentation.
  • Experience with Linux Commands
  • Experience with utilizing vulnerability scanning tools to include Tenable Security Center, STIG Viewer, SCAP Compliance Checker/Tools

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience working on U.S. Government contract proposals as a Cybersecurity Engineering subject matter experienced professional
  • Familiar with cloud and/or virtualization technologies
  • Familiar with Containerization (e.g., Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Familiar with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS)
  • Experience with IT, network, and system security administration, including security configuration and account management best practices for Windows, UNIX, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Cisco Systems
  • Experience utilizing information security toolsets, including anti-virus, vulnerability assessment, HIDS/NIDS, host-based and endpoint security, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and centralized auditing resources
  • Previous experience with Program Protection Plans (PPP), DoDI 5000.02, and DoDI 5200.39
  • Experience with implementing highly technical solutions and reporting their importance to program managers and stakeholders
  • Written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to work independently

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
