Job description

Plan the route. Own the decision. Keep every flight safe from request to landing.

At GlobeAir, every flight is planned and decided before the client ever steps on board. Our Flight Dispatch team is at the centre of the operation. We turn each flight request into a safe, legal and efficient plan, then stay with the aircraft until it lands.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a sharp and dependable professional to join us as a Flight Dispatcher. You will plan routings across more than 984 European airports, arrange permits and services, integrate aircraft performance and fuel data, and decide whether a flight is operationally feasible. This is more than flight planning. You will have the authority to initiate, reschedule, delay or cancel a flight, and you will be the person crews and partners rely on when weather, slots or plans change at short notice.

If you enjoy making clear decisions with real consequences, and want to see your work in every departure, this could be your next step.

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Arranging all services and requesting all permissions which are relevant for the safe operation of the flight
  • Determining the most suitable routing with regards to national and international regulations, meteorological conditions, airspace capacity and passenger comfort
  • Integrating performance data for the aircraft on the selected routing
  • Considering economical aspects such as fuel prices and consumption
  • Determining if requested flight is operationally feasible
  • Initiate, reschedule, delay or cancel a flight
  • Flight monitoring and assistance in case of emergency

Qualifications

  • High school or university degree
  • Holders of FAA, German or Austrian flight dispatch license are preferred but it is not mandatory
  • Minimum of 1 year previous work experience in flight operations is preferred
  • Must possess confident and effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to make good judgements based on the needs of the company operation, in a very fluid, fast changing environment
  • Proven problem solving and decision making ability
  • Highly self-motivated and proactive with a willingness to take initiative
  • Flexible approach to work to match the operational requirements (shifts, weekends and overtime)
  • Very good MS-Office skills and experience working with dispatch software (Astro, PPS Jeppesen)
  • Excellent English language skills (both verbal and written), all additional languages are a plus
  • Willingness to work on different shifts is essential
  • Must have the right to live and work in Austria

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
