This is a high-activity, transactional sales role focused on responsiveness, account penetration, and consistent execution.

Key Responsibilities

Account Growth & Management

  • Identify new opportunities within existing accounts and expand product penetration across MRO and safety supply categories
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of transactional and recurring supply opportunities

Government Sales & Procurement Navigation

  • Work within government procurement frameworks including GSA schedules, TAA compliance, SLED/SLEA environments, and federal contracting requirements
  • Understand and support purchasing workflows such as purchase orders, credit card (GPC) buying, and bid-based procurement processes
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable government purchasing and contract regulations

Sales Execution

  • Execute pricing, quoting, and order management in alignment with company guidelines
  • Use a structured sales process to identify needs, overcome objections, and close opportunities efficiently
  • Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and account activity tracking
  • Represent Columbia Safety and Supply at relevant industry or government-related events when applicable

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required Skills

  • 2–4+ years of experience in industrial distribution, MRO sales, government contracting, or transactional outside sales
  • Familiarity with government procurement processes (GSA, TAA compliance, SLED, or military base purchasing systems)
  • Experience working with or selling into public sector accounts (federal, state, local, or military)

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of safety supply, PPE, MRO, or industrial consumables
  • Experience with CRM systems and pipeline management tools

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
