Als verantwoordelijke sluiswachter speel je een cruciale rol in het veilig en vlot laten verlopen van het scheepvaartverkeer binnen het havengebied van Oostende. Je bedient de sluisinstallaties, begeleidt schepen tijdens het schutten en houdt de veiligheid van iedereen in de haven steeds in het oog. Je bent alert voor mogelijke risico’s en zorgt ervoor dat de procedures strikt nageleefd worden.

Een werkdag is nooit helemaal hetzelfde. Je begint met het controleren van de installaties en infrastructuur. Tijdens je shift werk je nauw samen met de hoofdsluismeester, havenluitenant, Traffic Coördinators en collega-sluiswachters. Je begeleidt schepen, volgt operationele instructies op, meldt incidenten of storingen en houdt je registraties up-to-date. Daarbij heb je regelmatig contact met schippers en andere havengebruikers.

Voel jij je thuis in een maritieme omgeving en werk je graag in een verantwoordelijke functie waar veiligheid, samenwerking en precisie centraal staan? Neem dan snel contact op!

  • Je hebt bij voorkeur een diploma technisch secundair onderwijs (TSO).
  • Je hebt een sterk veiligheidsbewustzijn en werkt nauwkeurig volgens procedures.
  • Ervaring in een maritieme, nautische of operationele omgeving is een pluspunt.
  • Je neemt verantwoordelijkheid en blijft rustig onder tijdsdruk.
  • Je bent bereid om in een ploegensysteem te werken en bent hierin flexibel.
  • Je communiceert vlot in het Nederlands en kan je uitdrukken in het Engels. Kennis van het Frans is mooi meegenomen.
  • Je werkt vlot samen met verschillende interne en externe partners.
  • Je kan goed overweg met digitale en operationele systemen.
  • Rijbewijs B is noodzakelijk.
