At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time; others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.
This is a hybrid position. You’ll divide your time between working remotely from your home and an office, so you should live within commuting distance. Hybrid teams may work in-office as much as a few times a week or as little as once a month or quarter, as decided by leadership. We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager who is excited about applying AI to complex data challenges! You'll bring strong experience in Agentic AI, workflow automation, and modern data engineering, while helping shape scalable data platforms and AI-powered solutions. This role requires a balance of hands-on technical depth, long-term thinking, and collaboration across teams to drive adoption of data and AI capabilities. What you'll get to do...
- Lead, coach, grow, and retain a multidisciplinary team of AI and Data Engineers, providing technical leadership and people management across AI/ML, agentic systems, and platform development
- Drive the design, delivery, scalability, reliability, and operational readiness of agent-based capabilities, ensuring high-quality production deployments and business value without compromising engineering standards
- Conduct architecture, design, and code reviews to ensure compliance with established standards, encouraged quality, and guidelines for model operationalisation and agentic architectures
- Operate effectively in fast-paced, high-ambiguity environments by demonstrating quantitative analysis, business judgment, and agile engineering practices to make informed decisions
- Partner closely with Product, Business Analysis, Data Science, Security, Privacy, Legal, and peer teams in the US region to understand data challenges and deliver scalable, compliant solutions aligned with GoDaddy security and privacy policies
Your experience should include...
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture and building data ecosystems, including 5+ years developing big data solutions and deep expertise in optimising distributed computing systems
- 2+ years of strong experience in Agentic AI development, building and deploying autonomous agents across complex data ecosystems, with expertise in data modelling, metadata management, and data quality
- 5+ years of experience leading, managing, and developing diverse, highly motivated engineering teams
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and multitasking skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both business and technical stakeholders while balancing competing priorities
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where continuous innovation is occurring
You might also have...
- A Bachelor’s degree in CS or related technical field
- Proficient in Python, Scala, and Java, with strong experience building Agentic AI systems, including autonomous workflows, agent harnesses, memory management, and orchestration frameworks
- Strong understanding of the modern AI stack, including LLM architectures, frontier and open-source models, prompt engineering, token economy, embeddings, and RAG patterns
- Strong experience developing big data solutions using Apache Spark, EMR, and Databricks for batch and stream processing, with a proven track record of delivering end-to-end analytics solutions on AWS (S3, Athena, Kinesis, Redshift, EMR, MWAA, Bedrock)
- Good knowledge of standard machine learning techniques, including Regression, Classification, Anomaly Detection, and Forecasting, using Spark, Python, and related ML libraries
