The posting
As part of our rapidly expanding E-Commerce operations, you'll play a vital role in connecting unique donations to online shoppers nationwide. We offer a supportive work environment focused on skill development, continuous learning, and long-term career growth within Goodwill’s mission-driven community. Depending on daily production needs and candidate strengths, responsibilities will focus on inventory intake and product evaluation, order picking and shipping, or a combination of both tracks. What you'll do: 1. Inventory Intake, Evaluation & Quality Control
Receive, unload, sort, label, and scan incoming merchandise and donations. Inspect items to assess condition, quality, and overall sale readiness. Research items to determine specifications, market value, and accurate titles; operate testing tools as needed (e.g., jewelry or specialty equipment). Utilize internal systems (e.g., NOS) to complete product check-in and quality processing.
2. Product Listing & Preparation
Photograph merchandise and draft clear, accurate product descriptions. List media (e.g., books, DVDs) and general merchandise for online sale in alignment with company standards. Maintain organized inventory and rotation schedules, purging outdated stock as required.
3. Picking, Packing & Shipping Logistics
Use handheld scanners (e.g., Zebra) to navigate inventory and pick merchandise for online orders. Pack orders and prepare outgoing shipments using specialized equipment (e.g., box makers) and shipping software. Generate shipping labels and documentation for carrier pickup (FedEx, USPS, OSM, etc.). Sort outbound shipments and support daily carrier pickup schedules.
4. Operations, Safety & Customer Support
Meet or exceed established daily processing, listing, and shipping targets. Maintain accurate production logs, processing records, and inventory data. Respond to customer pickup inquiries and escalate complex issues appropriately. Safely load/unload delivery trucks and assist with general material handling. Adhere to all safety guidelines and product flow protocols, maintaining a clean and safe workstation.
