About the job

As Corporate Counsel at Google, you work on the most exciting legal issues as disruptive technological innovations require creative and proactive legal guidance. You're part of a whip-smart group of in-house lawyers and the projects and cases you take on challenge you to think big and differently. You are collaborative -- ready to partner in initiatives that influence all aspects of the business and work with Googlers from all over the company. As an integrated part of the team, you proactively assess legal risks and advise on products that will not only move information into the 21st century, but move information law forward as well.

As an Associate Legal Counsel on the EMEA Ads Legal team, you will sit at the intersection of commercial agreement-making, innovative ad technology, and European digital regulation.

In this broad commercial and advisory role, you will draft and negotiate a wide variety of agreements powering Google’s Ads, Analytics, and Commerce business across EMEA—spanning enterprise analytics and measurement partnerships, agency and advertiser incentive programs, and channel partner ecosystems.

Beyond transactional work, you will advise business and product teams on regional product launches and help translate evolving UK and European regulations (including English contract law, data protection/GDPR, AI, and competition rules) into practical, scalable and customer-facing solutions. Working closely with sales, product, and Global Affairs colleagues across EMEA and the US, you will build streamlined legal processes and provide pragmatic advice that helps the business grow at scale.

20th century laws don't always solve 21st century problems, and Google Legal crafts innovative approaches for working with some of the toughest legal challenges of the information age. Whether you're a patent attorney, an intellectual property expert or an engineer headed to law school, Google Legal lets you address unanswered legal quandaries and create new precedents. Our innovative services raise challenging questions that demand creative and practical answers. We provide those answers by working at the crossroads of the law and new technology, helping Google build innovative and important products for users around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements with advertisers, agencies, and partners across EMEA and maintain scalable templates and playbooks that comply with company policies and local law.
  • Develop deep expertise in Google’s Ads, Analytics, and Commerce products, partnering closely with sales, product, and business clients across EMEA and the US to structure and launch new commercial initiatives and product features.
  • Advise senior management, business clients, and Global Affairs colleagues on complex agreement structures, commercial risks, and the application of company policies and English law.
  • Advise on the interpretation and practical application of UK and European laws and regulations affecting digital advertising, ensuring scaled compliance across our products and commercial frameworks.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the team’s operations by designing streamlined processes, self-service guidance, and scalable contracting and compliance solutions.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
