About the job

As a Plant Engineer at Google specializing in Controls and Automation, you will be a key site technical leader ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of our critical data center infrastructure . You will bridge the gap between day-to-day operations and high-level systems engineering, taking ownership of the site’s Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) platforms, and Building Management Systems (BMS). As a Plant engineer, you will form the technical backbone of the data center operations team, leveraging subject matter expertise to work daily with senior facility technicians and facility management in the continued operation of the site.

In this role, you will apply engineering theory to optimize critical cooling and power sequences, manage operational risks, and drive key sustainability metrics like Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE). As an advocate for best practices, you develop creative approaches to reducing operational costs while improving overall data center efficiency. You ensure that environmental and safety standards are consistently met, identifying problems and making repairs quickly. In emergency situations or abnormal conditions, you manage data center performance issues and outages to minimize the recovery time from failures.Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
