About the job

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.

The Google Home team’s mission is to create a home that takes care of the people inside it and the world around it. We are building the helpful home of an ecosystem that learns from users, anticipates their needs, and adapts to them.

We are driving an AI-first strategy to deliver proactive, agentic experiences across our portfolio of First Party (1P) and Third Party (3P) devices. Our Bengaluru (BLR) hub is a critical global engineering center for Google Home. The Technical Program Manager (TPgM) team in BLR drives the end-to-end execution, product quality, and technical roadmap for our core vertical pillars Media, Energy, and Wifi as well as expanding into Subscriptions (Subs) and Growth initiatives that maximize customer adoption, engagement, and long-term ecosystem value globally.

The Google Home team focuses on hardware, software and services offerings for the home, ranging from thermostats to smart displays. The Home team researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Our mission is the helpful home: to create a home that cares for the people inside it and the world around it.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee technical program execution and strategic roadmaps across core home verticals Media (casting, ambient audio/video), Wifi (connectivity, mesh architecture), and Energy (smart climate orchestration) alongside Subscriptions (Subs) and Growth programs (Nest services, premium AI subscription tiers).
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of TPgMs. Define engineering delivery structures, foster technical excellence, and balance resource allocations across core vertical infrastructure.
  • Act as the program management of the BLR Hub, presenting strategy, TPgM health, and operational risks directly to executive leadership.
  • Act as a local site anchor in BLR to drive close collaboration across local and global Engineering, Program Manager, UX, and Data Analytics leads.
  • Establish operational governance to manage complex dependencies across home device software, cloud/billing infrastructure, and external partners.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
