Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in program or project management.
- 2 years of experience working with technical teams on data center or mission-critical facility construction projects.
- 2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: electrical systems, mechanical systems, controls, security monitoring, fire safety, or networking/fiber.
Preferred qualifications:
- 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- 2 years of experience with mission-critical equipment/environments (e.g., switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems).
- Experience managing vendor relationships and a strong understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry, including knowledge of fast-track design-build processes.
- Knowledge of large-scale facility electrical and mechanical systems and strong communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to gather requirements, organize resources, prioritize tasks, manage schedules, and achieve objectives within defined goals.

Operating with a zero-disruption mandate, the role advances strategic business priorities, mitigates operational risk, and ensures reliability, safety, and sustainability across campus assets.
As a Data Center Program Manager, you hold full ownership and accountability for the planning, execution, governance, and delivery of the capital improvements portfolio across your sites. Directing key interfaces between building operations and the capital improvements Program Management Office (PMO), you will drive vendor performance, quality, and productivity, align cross-functional teams, and maintain high standards of operational excellence.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $132000 - $189000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end program lifecycle including scope definition, schedule forecasting, and budget management for technical data center retrofit and infrastructure improvement projects.
- Enforce Google construction's zero harm safety culture across all active job sites in direct partnership with Environmental Health, Safety, and Security (EH&S) teams; ensure trade partners strictly adhere to environmental, safety, and security protocols.
- Coordinate portfolio procurement strategies and resource planning with data center execution teams; direct external consultants, general contractors, and professional services to drive accountability, quality, and delivery milestones.
- Interface with active data center facility operations teams to plan and execute complex critical infrastructure modifications with zero disruption or impact to operational uptime.
- Lead technical alignment across mechanical, electrical, controls, and networking teams to resolve constructability challenges, streamline handoffs, and mitigate project risks and track project milestones and fiscal performance metrics.
