Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience leading regulatory, public affairs or policy development programs in the energy industry.
  • Experience leading negotiations and business development.
  • Experience managing relationships and leading critical negotiations for infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in power procurement and infrastructure project commercial.
  • Track record of managing and executing commercial transactions (e.g., energy supply agreements and power purchasing agreement).

As Google's products and services scale the globe, the Strategic Negotiation team works behind the scenes to secure infrastructure for Google's future -- everything from underwater cables to physical data center space. As a Strategic Negotiator, you combine your deep market knowledge of a given sector with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost-effective solutions to support Google's infrastructure growth. You'll work with specific project teams on negotiating agreements, managing vendor and partner relationships and presenting agreement recommendations to our Tech leadership. Your successful negotiations have the potential to save Google millions of dollars in operating costs and impact every part of the business.

As a Strategic Negotiator, you will combine your deep experience in the policy and regulatory landscale and energy markets to support Google's infrastructure growth. You'll work with market development teams to manage regulatory and government stakeholders, as well as commercial teams on negotiating agreements managing vendor and partner relationships and presenting agreement recommendations to our leadership. You will combine your policy and regulatory experience, financial acumen, industry experience and persuasion skills to analyze and communicate trends, and evaluate supply, investment opportunities, and agreement structures, whilst ensuring government and regulatory pathways remain clear to support these opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead energy regulatory interventions and policy advocacy initiatives in India to secure power and energy for Google data centers and mitigate operational risks.
  • Lead energy impact initiatives that support Google's ongoing investments and benefit local and regional stakeholders.
  • Support and manage power and clean energy procurement initiatives in India to secure reliable, cost-effective power and carbon free energy for Google's data centers and operations.
  • Originate, support and contribute to transaction negotiations and commercial structuring for data center energy agreements, including supply agreements, interconnection agreements, power purchases agreements etc.
  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with governments, regulators, utilities, energy developers and grid operators to influence market acceleration and advance business priorities related to energy in India.
