Position Summary

The Product Solution Analyst is responsible for translating product strategy, business needs, and client or user problems into clearly defined solutions that software development teams can successfully design, build, test, and deliver.

Working closely with Product Managers, business stakeholders, UX/Design, Engineering, QA, and other technology partners, the Product Solution Analyst serves as a critical bridge between business objectives and technology execution. The role performs many responsibilities traditionally associated with an Agile Product Owner, including requirements analysis, solution definition, backlog refinement, user story development, acceptance criteria, development-team clarification, and validation that delivered functionality meets intended requirements.

Product & Solution Definition

• Partner with Product Managers to translate product strategy, roadmap initiatives, and business problems into clearly defined capabilities and solutions.

• Develop a deep understanding of client, agent, partner, operational, and business workflows associated with assigned products.

• Work with business stakeholders and subject-matter experts to understand needs, processes, pain points, rules, and requirements.

• Analyze existing workflows and systems to identify gaps, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.

• Translate business and product needs into functional requirements, workflows, use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Document current-state and future-state processes where appropriate.

• Partner with UX/Design and Technology teams to evaluate potential solutions.

Agile Product Ownership & Backlog Management

• Serve as a day-to-day Product representative for assigned development teams in partnership with the Product Manager.

• Translate roadmap initiatives and product requirements into epics, features, user stories, and other development-ready artifacts.

• Develop clear user stories and acceptance criteria.

• Maintain and refine the product backlog based on priorities established by the Product Manager.

• Ensure backlog items are appropriately defined, understood, and ready for development.

• Facilitate or actively participate in backlog refinement sessions.

• Answer questions and provide clarification throughout implementation.

• Work with Product Managers and Engineering teams to break large initiatives into logical, incremental releases.

• Identify requirements gaps, conflicting requirements, edge cases, and unresolved decisions before they impact development.

• Participate in sprint planning, refinement, reviews, demos, and other Agile ceremonies as appropriate.

• Partner with the Product Manager when scope or solution decisions could materially affect roadmap priorities, strategy, or expected outcomes.

Requirements, Development & Stakeholder Support

• Elicit requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, process reviews, data analysis, system analysis, and observation.

• Document functional requirements, business rules, workflows, integrations, data requirements, and system behaviors.

• Identify upstream and downstream impacts and dependencies across products, systems, processes, integrations, and external partners.

• Partner closely with Engineering, Architecture, UX/Design, QA, Data, and other functions throughout the SDLC.

• Collaborate with Engineering on solution feasibility and implementation considerations.

• Partner with QA to ensure testing reflects business requirements and acceptance criteria.

• Review completed functionality and validate that delivered capabilities meet defined requirements.

• Support user acceptance testing, release readiness, documentation, training, and implementation activities.

• Build strong relationships and facilitate discussions involving technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Translate complex business concepts for technical teams and technical concepts for business stakeholders.

• Identify opportunities to improve requirements quality, backlog readiness, refinement, and development-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, technology, information systems, engineering, finance, or a related field preferred.

• 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Product Analyst, Product Solution Analyst, or similar role supporting software development.

• Experience working directly with software development teams in an Agile environment.

• Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into user stories, functional requirements, workflows, and acceptance criteria.

• Strong understanding of Agile software development practices and the SDLC.

• Experience managing or refining product backlogs.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication, and facilitation skills.

• Strong attention to detail while maintaining an understanding of broader product and business objectives.

• Experience with SaaS, insurtech, fintech, insurance technology, or another technology-driven environment preferred.

• Insurance brokerage, carrier, or insurance-distribution experience beneficial but not required.

• Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Product Owner, Business Analysis, or similar certifications beneficial but not required.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
