Senior Accountant – Revenue & General Accounting

You should know

Location: Farmers Branch, TX - 100% On-Site Compensation: $95K - $110K Citizenship Requirements: U.S. Citizens and Green Card Holders only.

Why this role matters

As GrabAGun continues to grow, we need a well-rounded accounting professional who can contribute across multiple areas of the general ledger while helping maintain accurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting.

The Senior Accountant will play an important role in the monthly close process, owning assigned general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and supporting financial reporting. This position will have exposure to a variety of accounting functions, including revenue, cost of goods sold (COGS), inventory, and other general accounting activities.

Given the pace and evolving nature of our business, we're looking for someone who is adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable working across different areas of accounting. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in U.S. GAAP, takes ownership of their work, and can move between priorities as business needs change.

What you'll do every day

- Own assigned general ledger accounts and take responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of account balances.

- Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, amortization, revenue, COGS, inventory, and other general accounting transactions.

- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, resolve discrepancies, and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.

- Participate in the full monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, ensuring assigned activities are completed accurately and on schedule.

- Support revenue accounting activities, including revenue recognition, deferred revenue, returns and refunds, chargebacks, promotional discounts, and payment processor reconciliations in accordance with U.S. GAAP (ASC 606).

- Assist with COGS and inventory accounting, including inventory valuation, purchase accounting, landed costs, and period-end cut-off procedures.

- Analyze general ledger activity, identify unusual fluctuations, and provide explanations for month-over-month variances.

- Partner with Operations, Sales, Finance, and other departments to research transactions, resolve accounting discrepancies, and improve financial reporting accuracy.

- Prepare supporting schedules, account analyses, and workpapers for monthly reporting and SEC filings, including 10-Q and 10-K reporting requirements.

- Support external audits by preparing documentation, responding to auditor requests, and ensuring assigned accounts and processes are audit-ready.

- Follow established internal controls and contribute to SOX compliance initiatives, identifying opportunities to strengthen accounting processes and documentation.

- Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, streamline reconciliations, and increase efficiency across the close process.

- Take on additional accounting responsibilities and special projects as business needs evolve.

What you bring

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

- 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably including public accounting or public company exposure.

- Strong general ledger experience with hands-on responsibility for journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.

- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles.

- Experience working across multiple areas of accounting rather than specializing exclusively in one function.

- Exposure to revenue recognition (ASC 606), COGS, and inventory accounting.

- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and evolving business needs.

- Ability to independently research accounting issues, identify discrepancies, and develop practical solutions.

- Experience supporting financial audits and working with external auditors.

- Familiarity with SEC reporting processes and internal controls is a plus.

- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite preferred.

- Advanced Excel skills, including working with large data sets and performing account analysis.

- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

- A proactive mindset, willingness to take ownership, and the ability to adapt as responsibilities and priorities change.

Bonus if you have

- CPA certification (preferred, not required).

- Experience working for a publicly traded company or within a SOX-compliant environment.

- Experience in eCommerce, retail, distribution, or other inventory-driven businesses.

- Familiarity with high-volume transaction environments, payment processors, and revenue accounting workflows.

- Experience with ERP implementations, accounting automation, or process improvement initiatives.

What success looks like

A reliable, well-rounded accounting professional who can own their assigned general ledger responsibilities, contribute meaningfully to the monthly close, and adapt to the evolving needs of the business. Accurate reconciliations, well-supported journal entries, timely reporting, and an accounting function that maintains strong controls while scaling with GrabAGun's growth.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
