The posting

Overview

Based in the heart of Manchester, Grace Media and the Betable Group is a team with knowledge and dedication to online gaming running through its DNA. It is responsible for delivering top-class online gaming experiences for customers of over 20 online casino both in Great Britain and internationally. We manage everything from cutting edge marketing to regulatory compliance, from B2B account management to financial analysis, and from customer service to payments and risk. We approach all of this with an ethos of social responsibility, invention and teamwork.

We are seeking a hands-on, mid to senior QA Engineer with strong automation experience to join our Product team. This is our first dedicated QA role, and you will be placed on Atom, our next-generation multi-tenant platform, and Brian AI, our intelligence and decisioning platform. These products are the future of the Betable Group, and quality needs to be built in from the start.

The QA Engineer will be responsible for both testing and automating: turning requirements into test plans, executing functional, regression and UAT testing, and designing and building the automation framework that underpins every release. They will provide clear test evidence and sign-off within our delivery process, working closely with our development partners, Product and Service Delivery.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, technically strong, comfortable building automation from the ground up, and able to balance day-to-day testing with improving how we approach quality across the team.

Key Responsibilities

· Test Planning: Review requirements and acceptance criteria early, identifying testability gaps and turning them into clear test plans and test cases before development starts.

· Functional & Regression Testing: Execute functional, regression, exploratory and cross-browser/device testing across Mobile and Desktop, ensuring features meet the required quality standards before release.

· Test Automation: Design, build and maintain the automation framework for Atom and Brian, covering UI, API and integration tests, and grow a regression suite that scales with each delivery phase.

· CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated suites into build and release pipelines so tests run on every build and release candidate, with clear reporting on results, coverage and flakiness.

· Multi-tenant & Configuration Testing: Validate behavior across tenants, brands and jurisdictions, including feature toggles and jurisdiction-specific configuration on Atom.

· Data & AI Product Testing: Test Brian AI for data accuracy, role-based access and user journeys, working with Product to define what correct looks like.

· Defect Management: Raise clear, reproducible bugs in our standard format, triage with development partners, and verify fixes and hotfixes through to closure.

· Quality Gates & Release Readiness: Provide test evidence and QA sign-off within our delivery process, working with the Service Delivery Manager on release readiness and post-release smoke testing in production.

· Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, engineering partners, compliance and operations to ensure alignment on scope, environments and test data.

· Continuous Improvement: Define and champion QA standards, including Definition of Done, test case conventions and severity guidelines, and identify opportunities to extend automation to other products over time.

· Documentation: Maintain test plans, test cases, automation documentation and test reports.

Experience and Skills

· Proven experience in a QA or test engineering role at mid to senior level.

· Hands-on experience building and maintaining test automation,

· Strong experience with modern UI automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress or Selenium.

· Experience with API testing and tooling such as Postman, REST Assured or similar.

· Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript or another language used for test automation.

· Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.

· Solid understanding of testing methodologies, including functional, regression, exploratory and UAT.

· Attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.

· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to write clear bug reports and test summaries for technical and non-technical audiences.

· Knowledge of agile software development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.

· Experience working with tools such as ClickUp or JIRA.

· Experience with multi-tenant SaaS, data/BI or AI products, or performance testing is desirable but not essential.

· Experience in the iGaming or Fintech industry is desirable but not essential.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
