You may not meet every requirement, and that’s okay. If this role excites you, we’d love you to raise your hand for what could be a truly career-defining opportunity.

The Opportunity:

We’re looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Revenue Accounting Manager to join our Finance Team! Reporting to the Director of Accounting (Revenue & Technical Accounting), you will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant revenue recognition for Grafana Labs, drive month-end close excellence, strengthen internal controls , and partner cross-functionally across RevOps, Deal Desk, Billing, Legal, Finance & Strategy, and Audit teams. This is an individual contributor position.

Our ideal candidate is a strategic, detail oriented revenue accounting professional with deep ASC 606 expertise and hands on experience with quote-to-cash processes in a SaaS or cloud consumption-based environment. They apply sound technical judgment to complex contracts, partner credibly with Sales, Legal and Deal Desk, and have a track record of building scalable, controlled and automated revenue processes.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Ensure proper application of ASC 606 to customer contracts, including subscription, usage-based and committed-spend arrangements, as well as variable consideration, multi-element deals, and contract modifications.
  • Review non-standard contract terms and prepare technical accounting analyses and documentation that are well supported, audit ready and practical to execute.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to use automation, AI and other tools to streamline revenue processes.
  • Perform and review monthly accounting close activities and deliverables for revenue (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, revenue estimate calculations, month-end analytics).
  • Translate ASC 606 conclusions into system configuration, and manage and enhance revenue automation, including NetSuite ARM, to improve accuracy, scalability and efficiency.
  • Execute and continuously improve month-end close accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support the financial reporting process by preparing quality and audit-ready supporting schedules.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Legal, DealOps and Billing to evaluate deal structures and resolve revenue-impacting terms before booking.
  • Assist with assessing the revenue implications of new products, pricing changes and go-to-market models, and help set accounting positions and policy.
  • Design, maintain and test SOX compliant internal controls over revenue, and identify opportunities to strengthen them.
  • Be a key partner for external auditors, providing audit ready documentation and support for quarterly and annual reviews.
  • Use SQL, Python or advanced Excel to analyze large data sets, find root causes and surface trends in revenue, billings and deferred revenue.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive revenue accounting experience in a Big 4 accounting firm and/or SaaS/technology company.
  • Deep knowledge of ASC 606, including usage-based or consumption-based revenue models and contract modifications.
  • Experience with revenue automation tools and ERP/CRM systems (e.g., NetSuite ARM, Zone Billing, Salesforce).
  • Working knowledge of Claude, Codex, SQL, Python, BigQuery or advanced excel functionalities preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of implementing process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing cross-functional stakeholders.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
