About the Role

Our client is a global industrial leader operating in over 100 countries, known for its advanced manufacturing footprint and commitment to driving digital innovation across its factories and supply chain. They are currently undergoing one of the most significant ERP and operational technology transformations in their industry to modernize systems, improve efficiency, and enable next-generation operations.

We are looking for an experienced Business Process Owner with strong SAP Project System (PS) expertise specifically within manufacturing environments. This is not a finance-focused SAP PS role. The focus is on project-driven manufacturing processes, project structures, manufacturing execution dependencies, materials, resources, milestones, and integration with adjacent production and supply-chain processes.

You will act as the bridge between Manufacturing teams and SAP / Digital delivery teams, supporting Fit-to-Template, process mapping, gap analysis, deployment readiness, UAT, cutover, Go-Live, and hypercare.

CONTRACT: Freelance / contractor assignment; 3 months rolling

LOCATIONS: Budapest or Warsaw

NOTES: SAP PS experience in a logistics and manufacturing context is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business readiness for SAP S/4HANA PS within manufacturing operations.
  • Align local manufacturing teams with the program’s Core Model / Global Template.
  • Prepare and facilitate Fit-to-Template / Fit-to-Standard workshops.
  • Map project-driven manufacturing processes, dependencies, milestones, materials, and operational workflows.
  • Perform gap analysis and identify deviations from the standard process model.
  • Gather and clarify business requirements and translate them into actionable inputs for SAP / Digital teams.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, and SAP delivery teams.
  • Support UAT, cutover, Go-Live, and hypercare activities.
  • Contribute to change management, user adoption, and process training.
  • Capture and share best practices across manufacturing deployments.

Requirements

  • Strong functional expertise in SAP Project System (PS) within a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA.
  • Strong understanding of project-driven manufacturing / engineer-to-order or similar project-based production processes.
  • Experience working with project structures such as WBS elements, networks, activities, milestones, and project-related materials/resources.
  • Understanding of integration between SAP PS and manufacturing-related areas such as PP, MM, procurement, logistics, and engineering.
  • Experience with international SAP transformation, Core Model, or Global Template rollouts.
  • Hands-on experience with Fit-to-Template, gap analysis, process mapping, UAT, cutover, Go-Live, and hypercare.
  • Fluent English and strong ability to work between Manufacturing and IT / Digital teams.
