The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Product Management – Content Management Systems based in the United States.

We are seeking an experienced product leader to shape the future of content management systems (CMS) and AI-powered digital experiences. In this role, you will own the product strategy, roadmap, and business outcomes for a portfolio serving government agencies and destination marketing organizations. You will balance the evolution of established products with platform modernization and the development of next-generation, AI-enabled capabilities. Working closely with customers, engineering, design, and commercial teams, you will turn customer insights into intuitive, scalable solutions that deliver measurable value. You will also lead and develop a team of product managers and product owners, fostering a culture of experimentation, collaboration, and evidence-based decision-making. This remote opportunity combines strategic leadership with hands-on product discovery and prototyping to improve how organizations create, manage, and deliver trusted digital experiences.

Accountabilities:

  • Own product strategy and roadmap: Define and execute the vision, roadmap, and business outcomes for the CMS portfolio across government and destination marketing markets.
  • Drive AI-enabled innovation: Shape next-generation content management experiences that help customers create, organize, govern, optimize, personalize, and publish content more effectively.
  • Champion customer discovery: Engage regularly with customers, prospects, and customer-facing teams to understand workflows, audience needs, governance requirements, and organizational challenges.
  • Prototype and validate concepts: Develop prototypes, workflows, and product demonstrations using modern development and AI-assisted tools to test assumptions and accelerate learning before committing to full-scale development.
  • Balance product investments: Prioritize improvements to existing products, platform modernization, customer commitments, technical sustainability, and new capabilities.
  • Collaborate across disciplines: Partner with engineering, architecture, UX, data, AI, marketing, sales, customer success, finance, legal, security, and executive stakeholders to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
  • Lead product discovery and prioritization: Use customer feedback, product data, market research, commercial opportunities, technical considerations, and business strategy to guide decisions.
  • Own portfolio performance: Monitor and improve adoption, engagement, customer satisfaction, retention, expansion, revenue growth, operational efficiency, and platform health.
  • Support commercialization and growth: Identify opportunities for pricing, packaging, bundling, upgrades, cross-selling, product launches, positioning, and sales enablement.
  • Analyze markets and competitors: Track developments across government technology, destination marketing, digital experience platforms, CMS solutions, and AI-enabled content tools.
  • Communicate strategy and results: Clearly present roadmaps, trade-offs, risks, priorities, and outcomes to executive leaders, customers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Lead and develop talent: Coach product managers and product owners, establish clear responsibilities and goals, provide regular feedback, and support professional growth.
  • Promote effective product practices: Build a team culture centered on customer discovery, rapid prototyping, experimentation, accountability, measurable outcomes, and responsible AI adoption.
  • Protect information and privacy: Follow applicable security and privacy policies to safeguard confidential information and customer and employee data.
  • Product management experience: At least 8 years of product management experience, including people leadership, with a strong record of owning strategy and business outcomes for complex B2B SaaS or enterprise software products.
  • Team leadership: Demonstrated experience managing, coaching, and developing product managers or product owners.
  • Customer-focused mindset: Significant experience conducting customer discovery, usability research, advisory sessions, strategic account engagement, product validation, or market research.
  • Hands-on prototyping skills: Experience developing and testing product concepts, workflows, or major capabilities before full-scale development, including the use of AI-assisted tools.
  • Product lifecycle expertise: Proven ability to manage established products while building new offerings or leading modernization initiatives from discovery through launch and adoption.
  • CMS and digital experience knowledge: Familiarity with content workflows, governance, integrations, personalization, accessibility, and multichannel content delivery.
  • AI product experience: Understanding of practical AI-enabled capabilities and the ability to consider security, privacy, and responsible use when designing products.
  • Technical fluency: Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, architecture, design, data, and AI teams to translate strategy into scalable, intuitive, and reliable experiences.
  • Commercial and market awareness: Experience partnering with go-to-market teams on product positioning, commercialization, customer readiness, sales enablement, and growth strategies.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking: Ability to combine customer evidence, market analysis, product data, and business priorities to make sound decisions amid ambiguity.
  • Communication and collaboration: Strong communication skills and the ability to align diverse stakeholders across a matrixed organization.
  • Preferred CMS expertise: Experience building or managing content management systems, digital experience platforms, websites, content workflows, or web-publishing products.
  • Preferred sector knowledge: Experience serving government agencies, public-sector organizations, destination marketing organizations, or other regulated or mission-driven customers.
  • Preferred compliance awareness: Familiarity with public-sector digital service requirements involving accessibility, security, privacy, records management, governance, and public trust.
  • Preferred AI capabilities: Experience with generative AI, intelligent content workflows, semantic search, personalization, content optimization, or AI-assisted authoring.
  • Preferred transformation experience: Background in platform modernization, product consolidation, replatforming, customer migrations, product-led growth, pricing, monetization, retention, or expansion strategies.
  • Competitive compensation: Annual salary range of $128,000–$178,000 USD, with bonuses also referenced as part of the compensation offering.
  • Remote flexibility: Work remotely as part of a globally distributed team.
  • Flexible time off: Access flexible time off to rest, recharge, and support work-life balance.
  • Company-wide well-being days: Paid days off dedicated to mental health and personal well-being.
  • Home office support: Work-from-home reimbursement to help maintain a productive remote workspace.
  • Healthcare coverage: Multiple health plan options, including a plan fully paid for by the employer.
  • Health savings support: Employer HSA contributions for eligible employees enrolled in a high-deductible health plan.
  • Fitness and mental wellness: Fitness reimbursement and on-demand mental health resources, including Headspace.
  • Paid parental leave: Support for both birthing and non-birthing parents.
  • Retirement savings: Traditional and Roth 401(k) options with a generous employer match.
  • Insurance coverage: Employer-paid life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance.
  • Learning and development: Access to online learning platforms to support ongoing professional growth.
  • Inclusive culture: Employee resource groups, opportunities to engage with leadership, and communities focused on wellness, family, hobbies, and shared interests.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
