The posting

Salary: $70,000 starting base (higher for the right experience) plus a $15,000 bonus after the 6-month onboarding period

Location: Rochester, New Hampshire, transitioning to remote after the first few months

The Opportunity

This is a hunter role for someone who wants to build a book of business rather than inherit one. You would be selling manufacturing, not a catalog. The company operates much like a contract manufacturing house, producing textile, coating, tile installation, and waterproofing components and systems to its customers' specifications.

It is an additional position. The long-term goal is for the right person to grow into a Sales Manager role.

Why This Opportunity Is Worth a Look

  • Compensation: $70,000 starting base, negotiable with experience, plus a $15,000 bonus after six months
  • Remote: Begin in Rochester, NH, then work remotely after the first few months
  • Growth path: The goal is for the right person to move into a Sales Manager role
  • Ownership: Develop new business rather than manage an existing book of accounts
  • Build-to-spec work: Your customers bring their specifications, and the manufacturer builds to them
  • Full project scope: Carry projects from prospecting through product development, packaging, branding, and launch
  • Cross-functional access: Work directly with product management, R&D, operations, quality, and supply chain
  • Flexible start date: The position is newly added, so there is room to transition from your current role

Your Day-to-Day

  • Build and execute a sales plan to grow private label and custom-manufactured business
  • Prospect and develop new opportunities with distributors, buying groups, manufacturers, and professional contractors
  • Manage the full sales process, including technical consultation, pricing, negotiation, and product launch
  • Lead projects involving new product development, packaging, branding, and commercialization
  • Prepare, present, and follow up on quotes promptly
  • Travel throughout North America, in the U.S. and Canada, to meet customers where they work
  • Track market trends, competitor activity, pricing, and customer requirements
  • Keep accounts, pipeline, and forecasts current in the company ERP/CRM system
  • Deliver field reports, weekly progress reports, and sales forecasts
  • Report customer complaints, problems, and non-conformances
  • Represent the company at trade shows, customer events, and association meetings
  • Feed customer insights into new product ideas and support R&D as products are developed

What We're Looking For

We are open to more than one profile. You might be earlier in your sales career with a strong hunter mentality and the drive to build something. Or you might already have solid B2B sales experience and be ready for your next step. Initiative, ownership, and willingness to be close to customers matter most.

Required

  • B2B consultative sales experience, or early-career experience paired with a clear hunter mentality
  • Comfort selling custom, made-to-specification solutions, such as private label, OEM, or contract manufacturing. Selling a manufacturer's off-the-shelf products is not the right fit for this role.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience (a science-related degree is a plus)
  • Strong presentation skills, in person and virtual, and commercial, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Experience with CRM and ERP systems, and proficiency in MS Office
  • Willingness to travel 50-60% throughout the U.S. and Canada
  • Valid driver's license and passport

Preferred

  • Familiarity with the textile, coating, tile installation, waterproofing, ceramic tile and stone, flooring installation, building materials, or construction chemicals industries
  • Experience selling through distribution, OEM, or manufacturing channels

Personal Profile

  • Proactive and commercially minded, and willing to take ownership
  • Comfortable with long sales cycles and multiple decision-makers
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with international teams
  • Curious about customer applications and motivated by long-term partnerships

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
