Summary

The Financial Services Area intern will learn to support a variety of accounting and finance related responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with current projects related to financial system improvements, data analysis and archiving.
  • Help with month-end and year-end close processes and tasks.
  • Support daily operating functions such as invoicing, accounts receivable and cash receipt application.
  • Participate in team and group meetings to better understand the organization and operations.
  • Prepare draft reports and communications.

Required Education and Experience

At the time of application; applicant must:

  • Currently enrolled in an associates, bachelors or master’s degree program with an accredited college or university
  • Currently enrolled in a related degree program to the internship in which they are applying – Accounting Preferred
  • A student in good standing and classified by their institution as a rising sophomore or higher
  • Able to commit to working at least 20 hours per week
  • Able to commit to the intern position for a minimum of two months

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with a major in Accounting.
  • Completion of introductory coursework in financial accounting and managerial accounting.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles and financial statement components.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including experience using formulas, sorting/filtering, and basic data analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail demonstrated through academic projects or work experience.
