Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements for layout. Welding large and small components such as copper plumbing, beams and pipes. Use specialized machines for industrial welding and monitor machines that do similar work. Maintain and repair all machines. Evaluate surfaces, structures, and components to be welded to identify defects. Follow and enforce strict safety rules such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and protective shoes. Monitor machinery for proper use and temperature. Solder flat, vertical and overhead components. Inspect and inspect welded surfaces and structures for defects. Store the device in a condition that does not compromise safety. Repair machines and other parts by welding parts and filling gaps Weld parts using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in different positions. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. A valid welding certificate from an accredited institution is preferred. Minimum 2 years experience as a welder. Excellent knowledge of welding machines, electrical equipment and hand tools.
