Process Engineer II

Schedule: Monday through Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Bilingual English/Spanish Required - Candidates must be bilingual in English and Spanish and able to communicate effectively in both languages within a manufacturing environment.

Job Summary

Greif is seeking a bilingual Process Engineer II to help optimize the interconnected systems, equipment, and processes that support our manufacturing operation. This role uses engineering expertise, data analysis, and hands-on problem solving to improve process performance, reliability, quality, and cost effectiveness.

This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who enjoys being close to the manufacturing process, investigating problems, conducting trials, and turning technical findings into practical improvements.

What You’ll Do

As a Process Engineer II, you will evaluate manufacturing processes, conduct trials and analyses, troubleshoot process and control issues, and recommend improvements. You may also manage engineering projects, lead small project teams, and provide technical guidance and training to less experienced colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform process trials and analyses and recommend improvements related to process optimization, machine breaks, chemical processes, and overall manufacturing performance.
  • Identify and resolve issues with existing control strategies while uncovering opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and operating data to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
  • Perform calibration testing on facility instrumentation.
  • Investigate customer complaints, identify contributing factors, and support appropriate corrective actions.
  • Prepare monthly quality and production reports to support operational decision-making.
  • Support engineering projects and process improvement initiatives from evaluation through implementation.
  • Interpret, communicate, and implement company policies and practices.
  • Maintain current engineering knowledge by staying informed of developing technologies, processes, and industry practices.
  • Lead small project teams as needed and provide technical training and guidance to less experienced engineering colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively with manufacturing and cross-functional teams to solve technical and operational challenges.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical education and experience.
  • Typically 4-8 years of engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Experience working in a steel manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
  • Broad understanding of manufacturing processes, industrial instrumentation, electrical systems, and chemical processes.
  • Experience identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving manufacturing process issues.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
  • Project management skills with the ability to organize and execute multiple priorities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to colleagues with varying levels of technical expertise.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of industrial instrumentation, electrical systems, manufacturing processes, chemical concepts, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to evaluate complex manufacturing and engineering challenges.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Understanding of financial concepts, including cost analysis and budgets.
  • Ability to explain complex procedures and technical concepts in clear, easy-to-understand terms.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with relevant engineering software, including CAD.
  • Ability to lead small project teams and provide technical guidance to less experienced colleagues.

Why This Role Matters

The Process Engineer II plays an important role in improving how our manufacturing operation performs every day. By identifying process challenges, analyzing performance, and implementing practical engineering solutions, you will help improve operational efficiency, product quality, equipment performance, and cost effectiveness.

Your ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish will also be essential to collaborating with colleagues, sharing technical information, supporting training, and helping drive improvements throughout the operation.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
