The position will also contribute to coordinated Centre-wide administrative, reporting, and professional-service activities, and will build strong working relationships between the Centre and key internal and external stakeholders. The position is a member of the QPI Operations Team. It is line managed at Griffith University by the Node Lead and reports functionally to the QPI Chief Operations Officer, based at UNSW, on Centre-wide operational matters, including Centre reporting, governance processes, administrative standards and Centre events.

  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Node, including procurement, travel, onboarding, committee support, and administrative systems.
  • Manage financial administration, including purchasing, invoicing, reconciliations, budget monitoring, and financial reporting.
  • Support research activities and events, coordinating workshops, seminars, conferences, student support, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
  • Deliver governance, reporting, and compliance support, including performance reporting, committee administration, and adherence to University and funding requirements.

For the Centre overall:

In consultation with the Centre Director, COO and Senior Finance Officer:

  • Support Centre-wide reporting and review activities, including annual reports and major review submissions.
  • Contribute to Centre-wide financial monitoring and reporting through the provision of accurate Node financial information.
  • Support the delivery of the annual QPI Workshop, including domestic travel and on-site event coordination as required.

About you

  • Demonstrated experience in administration, preferably within tertiary higher degree research administration, and experience providing proactive administrative and operational support in a complex research, higher education or comparable environment, including the ability to coordinate across multiple service areas and follow matters through to completion.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial administration and monitoring, including tracking expenditure against budgets, reconciling accounts and preparing financial reports, preferably in a grant-funded research environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated commitment to high‑quality customer service and ability to tailor communications for diverse audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Well-developed computer literacy skills, including the ability to quickly adapt to new systems and technologies.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
