The posting

We are looking for a Handyman to help maintain our dealership buildings, facilities, and grounds. This role is responsible for general repairs, cleaning, landscaping, seasonal snow and ice removal, and keeping the dealership safe, clean, and presentable for customers and employees.

Responsibilities

  • -Perform general building maintenance and minor repairs throughout the dealership.
  • -Mow lawns, trim grass, maintain landscaping, and keep dealership grounds neat and presentable.
  • -Clean and maintain showrooms, offices, service areas, restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas.
  • -Perform snow removal, snow plowing, salting, and ice control to keep parking lots, sidewalks, and entrances safe during winter weather.
  • -Assist with parking lot maintenance, including crack filling, patching, tarring, and other asphalt repairs.
  • -Complete basic plumbing repairs, such as fixing leaks and replacing fixtures when appropriate.
  • -Perform minor electrical repairs and replace light bulbs in accordance with safety requirements and applicable qualifications.
  • -Repair and maintain doors, locks, cabinets, furniture, walls, ceilings, and flooring.
  • -Perform painting, drywall patching, caulking, and other cosmetic repairs.
  • -Assemble furniture, shelving, fixtures, and equipment as needed.
  • -Assist with moving office furniture, equipment, supplies, and other dealership items.
  • -Regularly inspect buildings, parking lots, and grounds for maintenance needs, potential repairs, and safety hazards.
  • -Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs or work requiring licensed professionals or specialized equipment.
  • -Keep tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies organized and in good condition.
  • -Respond to maintenance requests promptly and prioritize urgent repairs.
  • -Follow dealership safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • -Complete other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • -Previous experience in handyman work, building maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
  • -Basic knowledge of general repairs, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and carpentry.
  • -Comfortable using common hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
  • -Ability to perform physical tasks, lift and move equipment or supplies, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • -Willingness to perform seasonal duties, including snow and ice removal.
  • -Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • -Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently while following direction from management.
  • -Good communication skills and the ability to respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and professional dealership environment.
