About the role:

The Education Specialist will provide academic and implementation leadership for large-scale school transformation programs in Odisha, strengthening the quality and scale of learning experiences across government secondary and upper-primary schools (Grades 6–10).

Working closely with the State Lead and program team, this role translates strategic learning frameworks into practical, scalable approaches across curriculum and content design, educator capacity building, classroom implementation, and continuous improvement. The Specialist will strengthen computational thinking, coding, and future-ready learning experiences, support student innovation, and help build learning systems that are responsive to ground-level realities and can be adopted sustainably at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Learning Strategy, Academic Leadership & Program Quality
  • Provide academic leadership to strengthen the quality, relevance, and scalability of learning experiences across the program.
  • Work with program and field teams to identify implementation challenges, academic needs, and responsive support strategies at district and state levels.
  • Use field insights, educator feedback, and program data to continuously refine curriculum, capacity building, and implementation approaches.
  • Align learning priorities with state educational strategies, academic calendars, and organizational learning frameworks.

2. Curriculum, Content & Learning Resources

  • Lead the development, adaptation, and review of curriculum, learning resources, and facilitation materials for Grades 6–10.
  • Strengthen learning outcomes, learner-centered pedagogy, practice opportunities, and assessment approaches through lesson plans, facilitator guides, project-based models, and digital/blended resources.
  • Lead academic quality assurance—including content review, vetting, localization, and field testing—and maintain a centralized repository of quality learning resources for scale.

3. Capacity Building & Continuous Learning Support

  • Design sustained professional learning journeys for teachers, Master Trainers, academic resource persons, government officials, and internal program teams in collaboration with state and central teams.
  • Develop training designs and facilitator resources; lead key training sessions and mentor practitioner leaders in classroom practice, facilitation, and peer support.
  • Build year-round learning support mechanisms, including webinars, digital resources, video modules, online communities, and peer-learning structures.

4. Field Learning, Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain a direct connection with classroom realities through regular engagement with educators, field teams, and government schools.
  • Collaborate with MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning) and program teams to analyze dashboards, monitoring tools, and qualitative feedback to identify trends and improve program quality.
  • Strengthen feedback loops, program reviews, documentation, and knowledge-management systems to ensure field learning informs district and state-level decision-making.

5. Student Innovation & Applied Learning

  • Lead learning design and academic support for student Ideathons, Hackathons, coding challenges, and other applied-learning initiatives.
  • Design problem-solving and project-based learning journeys that build computational thinking, creativity, and collaboration among students.
  • Enable teachers and education practitioners to mentor student teams and progressively take ownership of school-level innovation activities.

6. Institutional Engagement, Team Enablement & Knowledge Sharing

  • Provide academic and implementation inputs for government, academic, and institutional engagements, representing the organization in relevant education forums.
  • Lead curriculum alignment, content review, and co-creation processes with institutional partners, embedding program ownership within existing state education structures.
  • Mentor state, district, and field teams to strengthen facilitation quality, quality-assurance processes, and reflective practices.
  • Collaborate with the central Learning & Development team to contribute to organization-wide thematic priorities, shared resources, and peer learning.

Required Experiences & Skills: • 8–12 years of relevant experience in education, preferably in large-scale education programmes and/or government school systems. • Strong experience in curriculum and content development, learning design, teacher professional development and capacity building.

• Demonstrated ability to translate academic and learning strategies into practical approaches that can be implemented at scale. • Strong understanding of computational thinking, coding education, STEM education and/or technology-enabled learning; familiarity with Scratch is preferred. • Familiarity with career exploration frameworks and strong understanding of experiential, project-based and learner-centred pedagogies. • Experience designing and facilitating professional learning programmes for teachers, trainers, academic resource persons or government stakeholders. • Strong facilitation, communication, stakeholder management, analytical and relationship-building skills; ability to work collaboratively while providing clear academic leadership. • Familiarity with NEP 2020, school education systems and curriculum frameworks; strong comfort with digital tools and platforms for learning and collaboration. • English required; Odia preferred. • Willingness to travel extensively.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
