Job Summary

The QA/QC Manager ensures company services meet quality standards by planning and directing quality assurance programs, formulating control policies, training staff and subcontractors on Integrated Management Systems, and enhancing organizational efficiency and profitability through resource optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, implement, and maintain the company’s Integrated Management Systems (IMS) to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
  • Contribute quality data and analysis to strategic plans and develop action plans to enhance quality performance and best practices
  • Resolve defects by managing rectification works within budget and timelines, and coordinate handover of completed works to clients
  • Ensure all defective works during the Defect Liability Period are satisfactorily rectified
  • Lead initiatives to achieve awards that enhance the company’s reputation and image
  • Maintain and execute the company’s sustainability commitments on projects
  • Plan, organize, and conduct audits to assess process effectiveness and efficiency, and implement process engineering improvements and industry best practices
  • Facilitate quality awareness and learning across all functions by delivering training and communicating IMS policies, procedures, and quality initiatives to staff and subcontractors
  • Analyze root causes of defects, initiate corrective actions, and recommend measures to minimize recurrence
  • Coordinate with BCA on Conquas application and inspection processes
  • Demonstrate familiarity with project Architectural, M&E, and Structural specifications as well as Conquas requirements
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to set quality objectives, targets, and roles for project teams related to Conquas and overall quality management
  • Conduct weekly quality meetings and inspections to monitor progress and compliance
  • Maintain and enhance the effectiveness of the IMS in alignment with ISO standards
  • Report quality progress and issues to Top Management regularly
  • Approve leaves and conduct appraisals for QA/QC personnel
  • Address internal and external customer inquiries promptly and professionally, ensuring a customer-focused approach
  • Stay updated on industry developments and participate in training for continuous skill enhancement
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Management

Required competencies and certifications

  • Degree in Engineering (Civil or M&E) or Sustainable Urban Design and Engineering
  • Certified CONQUAS Manager, Green Mark Manager, Internal Audit Certification
  • Minimum 8 years of construction industry experience
  • Proficient knowledge of BCA Conquas, Quality Mark, Green & Gracious Builder requirements, and Quality Management Systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Good understanding of construction sequencing and architectural and structural trades
  • Strong presentation, communication, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train and promote quality awareness among diverse teams
  • Analytical, meticulous, flexible, adaptable, self-motivated, and a team player
  • English proficiency; knowledge of an additional language is advantageous
