Reporting to the Vice President, Music Education, this role leads the strategy, design, development, launch, measurement, and ongoing evolution of the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum and education product portfolio.

Operating at the intersection of education, product innovation, and business strategy, this leader will transform existing curriculum frameworks into engaging, student-centered learning experiences that are easy to teach, accessible to learners, and scalable across our network. The ideal candidate brings a product-minded approach to education, combining learning design expertise, customer insights, and commercial acumen to deliver meaningful student experiences and measurable business results.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum & Learning Architecture

  • Design and scale comprehensive, outcomes-based learning experiences across instruments, musical styles, skill levels, and student segments.
  • Establish differentiated learning pathways, progression milestones, and achievement frameworks that support meaningful musical development.

Education Product & Portfolio Strategy

  • Own the strategy, development, and evolution of the curriculum and education product portfolio, including learning pathways, services, and supplemental offerings.
  • Evaluate existing products and identify opportunities for innovation, expansion, optimization, or repositioning based on student needs, market opportunities, and business performance.

Student Experience, Engagement & Learning Outcomes

  • Design engaging, student-centered learning journeys that support onboarding, goal setting, early achievements, and long-term musical progression.
  • Establish measurable learning outcomes and leverage student insights, engagement metrics, and retention data to improve educational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.

Product Innovation & Commercialization

  • Lead the development of new education products and services from concept and customer discovery through pilot, launch, measurement, and scaled implementation.
  • Identify opportunities across emerging learning formats, digital tools, student segments, and supplemental offerings that enhance the student experience and support sustainable business growth.

Instructor Enablement & Educational Quality

  • Partner with Training, Field Leadership, and Music Education Experience teams to develop instructional resources, teaching standards, and professional learning tools that support effective curriculum delivery.
  • Establish consistent quality standards and scalable learning frameworks that empower instructors while maintaining flexibility to meet individual student needs.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Scalability

  • Collaborate with Operations, Product, Technology, Marketing, Finance, Training, and Field Leadership to align education products with customer needs, operational capabilities, and strategic business priorities.
  • Translate product strategies into actionable development plans, implementation requirements, and scalable solutions that support consistent execution across the Lessons network.

Portfolio Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop performance measures that connect educational outcomes to student engagement, lesson renewal, retention, customer satisfaction, and overall portfolio effectiveness.
  • Leverage quantitative and qualitative insights from students, parents, instructors, and field teams to evaluate product performance, guide investment decisions, and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in education product development, EdTech, instructional design, curriculum strategy, music education, or a related field.
  • Proven experience designing, developing, launching, and scaling educational products, curriculum, or structured learning experiences from concept through implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate learner needs and business objectives into engaging, measurable learning experiences that drive student progression, retention, and commercial outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and product management capabilities, including experience using customer insights, performance data, and feedback to inform product strategy and continuous improvement.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, and balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.

Preferences:

  • Experience in EdTech, music education, consumer learning platforms, or subscription-based education products.
  • Experience developing differentiated learning pathways, progression milestones, and engagement strategies across multiple learner segments.
  • Demonstrated success improving learner engagement, subscription conversion, customer retention, or other measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience scaling education products or learning programs across multiple locations, instructor networks, or digital platforms.
  • Knowledge of instrumental music education, instructor enablement, or learning technologies; bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
