Job Description H-E-B's Transportation Fleet is proof of our excellence in logistics: our Drivers and Support teams ensure 475 tractors and 3,530 trailers move over 73 million miles every year to ensure our Customers get the products they want in the manner they want to shop, pay for, and receive them. As a Trailer Technician, you'll assist with basic to mid-range diagnostics and troubleshooting, and with basic repair and replacement and preventative maintenance. Once you're eligible, you'll become an Owner in the company, so we're looking for commitment, hard work, and focus on quality and Customer service. Troubleshooting / Maintenance / Repair & Replacement: - Assists in basic to mid-range diagnostics and troubleshooting - Performs basic repairs, preventative maintenance, and replacements in assigned specific classification - Operates with basic tooling - May work with others in an apprentice-style environment - Assists in minor trailer repairs; repairs / replaces lights and interior plywood; adjusts brakes, repairs air leaks, repairs scuff liner - Performs basic welding - Repairs / replaces wheels and tires - Performs all safety-sensitive trailer repairs with some degree of Trainer assistance depending on Tech's experience - Performs Associate Trailer Tech duties What is your background? - Trade school or 1+ years of experience Compensation: - hourly pay varies based on experience and Tech level offered Availability: - open availability required (days, nights and weekends) Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Trailer Technician? - Meet HEB driving requirements - required to obtain/provide MVR driving record upon offer - Working knowledge of general preventative maintenance and safety procedures - Skills to use fabricating tools - Welding skills (trailer repair) - Electrical skills (shorts / repair diagnosis) - Ability to read schematic diagrams Can you... - Work in a team environment - Lift 100 lbs and carry a distance of 5 ft - Work sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and in a prone position - Work with hands over head - Climb; work from a ladder - Possess / maintain required tools - Obtain DOT certification within 1 year of hire
