How you will make an impact

The Senior Manager, Cost Accounting serves as the subject matter expert for inventory, manufacturing, and cost accounting, with responsibility for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory valuation, standard costing, COGS accounting, and related financial reporting. This role leverages strong technical accounting expertise and business partnership skills to support operational performance, enhance financial processes and controls, and provide decision-support analysis across the manufacturing and supply chain organization. The position partners closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and FP&A teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and business insights that support operational excellence and strategic decision-making.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead all aspects of inventory accounting, cost accounting and cost of goods sold (“COGS”) accounting, including inventory valuation, standard costing, manufacturing variance analysis and related financial reporting.
  • Own, maintain and continuously enhance standard costing methodologies, product costing models, and inventory valuation processes, including annual cost updates.
  • Ensure inventory is accurately valued and COGS is correctly recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
  • Analyze manufacturing, inventory, and purchase price variances, providing insightful analysis of key drivers, emerging risks, and opportunities to support operational and financial performance.
  • Lead inventory reserve analyses, including excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory assessments, and collaborate with business partners to evaluate inventory-related risks and trends.
  • Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities related to inventory, manufacturing costs and COGS, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting analyses.
  • Prepare financial analyses, management reporting, and supporting schedules related to inventory, manufacturing operations, and product profitability.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality and FP&A teams to provide accounting guidance and support costing analytics, budgeting, forecasting, business decisions and operational initiatives.
  • Drive continuous process improvement, automation, and system enhancement initiatives to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of inventory and cost accounting operations.
  • Support internal and external audits, including SOX compliance activities, with high-quality documentation and timely responses.
  • Maintain, execute, and continuously improve internal controls, accounting policies, procedures and documentation related to inventory, manufacturing, and cost accounting processes.
  • Provide accounting guidance and costing for new products and arrangements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree and/or MBA preferred).
  • CPA or CMA required (active certification preferred).
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive finance and technical accounting experience, including public accounting and/or public company experience.
  • Minimum of eight years of cost accounting, standard costing, manufacturing, supply chain, internal controls, and SOX compliance experience (Med device, pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, or healthcare preferred).
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft tools and financial data analysis.
  • Experience driving process improvement, automation, and scalable reporting solutions.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturing organizations (“CMOs”) and third-party logistics providers (“3PLs”).

In return, we offer you:

  • Full and comprehensive benefit program, including an Employee Stock Purchase Program and 401(k) matching.
  • Opportunities to grow in a culture that prioritizes learning, development and progression through in-house programs and tuition reimbursement.
  • A collaborative, innovative team that works as one to amplify your impact—on your career, the work you do and patients’ lives.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
