ABOUT THE ROLE:

Halter runs on a capable finance tech stack, and we want to push it further. This newly created role centres on NetSuite and the platforms around it, including the EPM tool we’re currently selecting. You’ll layer real AI-powered automation on top: not demos or one-off scripts, but tools that ship, run in production, and change how our finance team works day to day.

We’re after someone who loves AI and automation but cares just as much about doing it properly: understanding the problem, building something that holds up, and maintaining it afterwards.

You’ll sit within Finance Systems, working closely with the Senior Manager and partnering with FP&A and accounting to figure out what’s worth automating and why. That could mean getting more out of native AI features or building custom automation with enterprise Claude and other platforms.

To build tools that work, you’ll spend time with the team learning how finance actually gets done. Occasionally, you’ll need to reprioritise and build something quickly—a tool, script or automation—to unblock a bottleneck.

If you want to own your work end to end and see its impact in a live finance environment, this is your kind of role.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

- Experience shipping automation or AI-powered tools into production and supporting them once live

- Some background or genuine interest in accounting and finance, with a willingness to help during busy periods; you don’t need to be a qualified accountant

- A good feel for where AI helps a process and where it just adds noise

- A track record of owning work from scoping and testing through to delivery and maintenance

- Comfort with a role that’s still taking shape—you’ll help define it

- Strong communication skills and patience with people who don’t speak your technical language

Bonus things you could bring:

- Exposure to NetSuite, EPM or planning tools, or a willingness to get up to speed quickly

- Experience with AI frameworks, agent tooling or workflow orchestration

- Exposure to system implementations, UAT or structured project work

- Progress towards, or completion of, a professional accounting qualification (CA or equivalent)

WHAT YOUR DAY COULD LOOK LIKE:

- Design, build and deploy finance automations using enterprise AI tools, including Claude, and own their ongoing maintenance and support

- Track native AI capabilities across NetSuite and our EPM tool, recommending what’s worth adopting

- Partner with FP&A, accounting and Finance Systems to scope opportunities around real problems, informed by time spent learning their processes

- Occasionally reprioritise to build a quick tool, script or automation that gets finance unblocked

- Contribute to broader finance systems work, including platform upgrades, NetSuite’s evolving AI and agentic capabilities, and new market entry

- Work with the Senior Manager, Finance Systems, on scope and priorities, bringing your own judgement as the team’s AI and automation specialist

HALTER IN AUSTRALIA:

Halter entered Tasmania two years ago and has rapidly expanded to now have 20% of the state's dairy herd with Halter - a thriving customer base managed by a talented, local team. Halter recently entered Queensland and NSW, and now has a growing team and customer base across both states.

In Victoria and South Australia, Halter is preparing to launch operations following recent regulatory approval for virtual fencing. In Western Australia, Halter does not yet have customers. In these states there is a groundswell of demand for Halter across thousands of farmers. In Australia, virtual fencing is regulated by individual states' animal welfare legislation. Until recently, several states had legislation that did not permit farmers to use high-quality virtual fencing technology. With NSW parliament's announcement regulating virtual fencing, and Victoria and South Australia following suit, these barriers are now lifting.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
