Work Environment

This is an event-driven position with assignments based on operational needs. Work may take place at various event venues, with shifts that can include nights, weekends, holidays, and longer hours depending on event requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Direct and support assigned security officers during events, ensuring personnel understand their duties and assigned locations.
  • Organize pre-shift instructions covering post assignments, venue procedures, communication expectations, and event-specific security requirements.
  • Confirm staffing coverage and address attendance issues, delayed arrivals, and unexpected vacancies.
  • Observe officer performance and provide direction regarding conduct, uniform standards, attentiveness, and compliance with company procedures.
  • Help manage security coverage at entry points, parking facilities, restricted-access zones, backstage locations, VIP sections, and other designated areas.
  • Assist with credential verification and enforce venue access requirements for guests, employees, vendors, and authorized personnel.
  • Maintain awareness of crowd activity and identify developing concerns that could affect guest safety or event operations.
  • Take appropriate action when security incidents, disputes, unauthorized entry, medical situations, or other emergencies arise.
  • Communicate and coordinate with venue representatives, event organizers, emergency responders, law enforcement, and company leadership as needed.
  • Support orderly movement throughout event spaces and help prevent congestion in entrances, exits, and pedestrian areas.
  • Arrange officer relief and meal or rest coverage in accordance with operational needs and applicable company procedures.
  • Conduct walkthroughs of assigned areas to identify safety hazards, access-control concerns, or other issues requiring attention.
  • Keep Dispatch and management informed of staffing changes, significant observations, incidents, and unresolved operational concerns.
  • Prepare accurate shift summaries, Daily Activity Reports (DARs), incident documentation, and other required records.
  • Record relevant incident details, including the time, location, people involved, observations, and response taken.
  • Operate company-approved communication devices, mobile applications, and reporting tools to complete assigned duties.
  • Assist with end-of-event security procedures, including venue checks and the safe departure of guests and staff.
  • Confirm that officers follow their assignments and remain in position until properly relieved or authorized to leave.
  • Promptly escalate equipment problems, security concerns, staffing shortages, and other matters requiring management attention.
  • Apply Observe and Report practices and follow all applicable company policies, post orders, and client instructions.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Current, valid California Guard Card.
  • Security lead experience required; event security or team leadership experience is a strong plus.
  • Ability to provide direction, organize personnel, and maintain accountability across multiple assignments.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional approach to customer service, conflict resolution, and handling sensitive situations.
  • Ability to assess situations, exercise good judgment, and follow established emergency procedures.
  • Familiarity with two-way radios, smartphones, digital reporting applications, and other workplace technology, or the ability to learn these tools.
  • Dependable attendance, punctuality, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods.
  • Availability to accept event assignments that may fall on evenings, weekends, holidays, or extended shifts.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while providing effective direction to others.

Compensation and Benefits

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
