The posting

About Us

Hatch Studio has been building and running software since 2011. Our team has worked on products used by millions of people, alongside companies like EA, Epic Games and Krafton. We've lasted 15 years by delivering great work and treating people well.

We believe AI is changing how great software gets built, and we want our people at the front of that change. At Hatch, you'll be encouraged to explore AI tools in your daily work, share what you learn, and help shape how we build. We want people who are curious, care about quality, and take ownership of their work.

We're based in Vancouver, with team members across Canada.

About The Role

AI can build anything. We make sure it's the right thing. Today we're growing into AI-native managed delivery, powered by our own platform, AEPilot, and we're looking for our first Business Development & Discovery Lead. You'll own outreach end to end: finding the right people, starting real conversations, and booking qualified meetings.

The people you'll talk to are business leaders — in product, operations, customer, marketing or IT — at mid-to-large companies. They own an outcome and a budget, and they need software built while their own tech team is busy elsewhere. We're industry-neutral, with a focus on regulated and operations-heavy sectors: financial services, insurance, healthcare, energy and utilities, transportation and logistics, the public sector, and regulated manufacturing.

You'll be selling AEPilot-powered managed delivery. Clients start with a paid 2–3 week Planning Sprint that ends with a clear plan, a clear budget and a date. From there we build, then keep evolving and operating the product with them. Along the way, AEPilot keeps a living Product Memory of every business, technical and compliance decision behind the product — and the client owns it.

This is a hybrid position in Vancouver, or remote within Canada, with working hours that must align with Pacific Time (PT) business hours.

You will

  • Prospect Research: Research and build target lists using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, referrals and warm introductions through mutual connections.
  • Outreach: Run outreach by LinkedIn, email and phone.
  • Discovery Conversations: Hold open, curious discovery conversations about how companies use AI to build software, and where it goes wrong.
  • Qualification: Qualify prospects — a real project, a budget owner, timing, and fit for a Planning Sprint — and book qualified meetings.
  • Notes & CRM: Write a note after every conversation (role, industry, problems, the exact phrases they used, interest level) and keep our CRM clean.
  • Buyer Language: Feed buyer language back into our messaging every month.
  • Campaign Input: Help shape our outbound campaign based on what you learn.

You have

  • Software Delivery Experience: Real experience in or around the software development lifecycle — for example as a developer, QA, business analyst, product owner, project manager or technical account manager — so you can hold a credible first conversation.
  • B2B Sales: Proven B2B sales or business development experience in outbound, booking meetings and qualifying, ideally selling services or software to non-technical business buyers.
  • Modern Tooling: Daily use of AI tools to work efficiently, with a critical lens — you review and refine what they produce rather than sending it out as is.
  • Clear Communication: Excellent written and spoken business English. You communicate clearly, warmly and in plain language.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Flexible to attend remote meetings during the evening, when required.
  • Must be a resident of Canada and be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Ability to work during Pacific Time Zone regular business hours.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience selling into regulated industries.
  • Consulting or agency services sales experience.
  • A network in Vancouver or across Canada.

What success looks like in your first 90 days

  • You've built a focused target list and a steady rhythm of outreach across LinkedIn, email and phone.
  • You're having regular discovery conversations with the right business leaders, each captured in a clear note in the CRM.
  • You're booking several qualified meetings a month.
  • You've helped surface our first Planning Sprint opportunity from your pipeline.
  • Our messaging sounds more like our buyers, because you've brought their words back to us.

How to apply

  • To apply, submit your resumé through this posting with a short note about a time you booked a meeting with a hard-to-reach buyer: who they were, how you got through, and what happened next.
  • Note: A background check will be required for employment in this role.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?
