Job Description

He aha te tūranga - About the role:

  • 6 month full-time contract opportunity – Auckland based. 20th January 2027 start.

We’re embarking on an exciting transformation of our operational reporting environment, with Microsoft Fabric at the heart of our new Business Intelligence platform. This six-month contract, commencing in January, will play a key role in strengthening the platform, lifting team capability, and embedding sustainable ways of working that support future growth and ongoing adoption across the organisation.

In this role, you will:

  • - Support the delivery and expansion of our Ambulance Operations reporting platform using Microsoft Fabric.
  • - Help establish best-practice ways of working across development, documentation, governance, testing, deployment and support.
  • - Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements, review reporting needs, and support the adoption of new reports and insights.
  • - Contribute to the development of reporting governance frameworks, including report and measure registers, quality assurance processes, and release readiness reviews.
  • - Undertake analysis and discovery work to support the integration of additional data domains and reporting capabilities.
  • - Create practical documentation, templates and guidance that build team capability and ensure knowledge is retained beyond the life of the contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on BI professional who enjoys combining technical delivery with stakeholder engagement and capability uplift, while helping shape a modern reporting environment from the ground up.

Qualifications

Ko wai koe - About you:

The role would suit someone who enjoys getting stuck into practical BI delivery while helping a team build confidence and capability in a new reporting environment. You'll be collaborative, proactive and comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You'll bring:

  • - Minimum of 2 years experience delivering business intelligence, reporting or analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, or similar modern data platforms.
  • - Strong data analysis and reporting skills, including experience with data modelling, SQL and translating business requirements into meaningful insights.
  • - An understanding of good BI development practices, including testing, documentation, deployment and ongoing support.
  • - The ability to work with stakeholders to understand reporting needs, gather feedback and explain technical concepts in a clear and practical way.
  • - Experience improving processes, establishing standards, or helping teams adopt new tools and ways of working.
  • - Strong organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to manage priorities and deliver outcomes with a high degree of autonomy.

A relevant qualification in data, analytics, information systems or a related field is desirable, as are Microsoft Fabric and Power BI certifications.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
