Automotive Service Advisor – Full-Time

Hawkins Chevrolet | Danville, Pennsylvania

You are not just selling service—you are building trust.

Hawkins Chevrolet is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Advisor who understands repair-order performance, customer satisfaction, and the importance of maintaining clear communication throughout the service process.

Knowledge of HPRO, CSI, gross profit per repair order, hours per repair order, and related service metrics is strongly preferred.

Who We Are

At Hawkins Chevrolet, we hold ourselves accountable for providing dependable repairs and an exceptional customer experience. Our approach is straightforward:

Fix it right. Own the experience. Earn the return visit.

We believe details matter, from accurate repair-order documentation to keeping customers informed and returning their vehicles in a clean, professional condition.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and professionally.
  • Listen to customer concerns and accurately document requested repairs and services.
  • Explain recommendations, costs, timelines, and repair status clearly and honestly.
  • Prepare accurate repair orders and obtain required customer authorizations.
  • Work closely with technicians, parts personnel, and management to move repair orders through the shop efficiently.
  • Review multipoint inspections and present legitimate maintenance and repair recommendations without overselling.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers throughout the repair process.
  • Monitor individual performance metrics, including HPRO, hours sold, gross profit, repair-order count, and CSI.
  • Complete follow-up calls and communications to support customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Maintain organized customer records, work areas, and repair-order documentation.
  • Assist with moving or operating customer and dealership vehicles when necessary.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of automotive service-advisor experience.
  • GM dealership experience is preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of repair orders, maintenance recommendations, shop workflow, and service-department performance metrics.
  • Experience with Xtime, Dealertrack, or similar dealership systems is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, prioritize responsibilities, and keep customers informed.
  • Commitment to ethical sales practices and accurate customer communication.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with technicians, parts personnel, management, and other departments.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required because the position involves moving and occasionally operating customer and dealership vehicles.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive performance-based compensation based on relevant experience and qualifications.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance, subject to eligibility requirements.
  • 401(k) with employer match.
  • Paid vacation and holidays.
  • Paid training and professional development.
  • Employee discounts on vehicles, service, and parts.
  • Opportunities for advancement within the dealership.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

Do you really apply for me?
