Alternate Home Health Administrator — Part-Time Startup Position

Schedule: Approximately 20–25 hours per week during the startup phase

Position Summary
Healing and Helping Home Health is seeking an experienced and dependable Alternate Home Health Administrator to assist with establishing and overseeing our skilled home health agency in Indianapolis.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands home health administration, regulatory compliance, personnel management and startup operations. The Alternate Administrator will support the primary Home Health Administrator and assume administrative responsibilities when the primary Administrator is unavailable.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the Home Health Administrator with daily administrative operations
- Serve as the designated Alternate Administrator when the primary Administrator is unavailable
- Assist with preparing the agency for Indiana Department of Health licensing and surveys
- Review and help implement agency policies and procedures
- Maintain personnel, compliance and administrative documentation
- Assist with employee onboarding, orientation, training and performance monitoring
- Support patient-rights, complaint and grievance procedures
- Assist with emergency preparedness, infection prevention and quality-improvement activities
- Help ensure compliance with Indiana home health regulations and applicable federal requirements
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and other clinical leadership
- Assist with staffing coordination and employee accountability
- Participate in community outreach and referral-development activities
- Protect confidential patient, employee and company information
- Report operational, compliance and financial needs to the Administrator and Owner
- Perform other appropriate administrative duties related to agency startup and operations
Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet applicable Home Health Administrator qualification requirements, including:
- Licensed physician, Registered Nurse or holder of an undergraduate degree
- At least one year of supervisory or administrative experience in home health care or a related healthcare program
- Experience supervising healthcare or administrative staff
- Knowledge of healthcare operations, regulatory compliance and personnel management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to organize records, meet deadlines and follow through on assigned responsibilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Administrator, Owner and clinical leadership
- Ability to pass a required national or expanded criminal background check
- Current TB documentation
- Current CPR/BLS certification, if applicable to the applicant’s professional role
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Home Health Administrator or Alternate Administrator experience
- Experience with Indiana Department of Health home health requirements
- Knowledge of Medicare Conditions of Participation and Indiana home health regulations
- Experience with survey preparation, QAPI, emergency preparedness or policy implementation
- Experience with Medicaid or Medicare provider operations
- Experience helping launch or develop a healthcare agency
Schedule and Compensation
- Starting pay: $30–$40 per hour, based on qualifications and experience
- Schedule: Approximately 20–25 hours per week during the startup phase
- Work will primarily be completed at the Indianapolis office, with limited remote work only when authorized
- All hours must be scheduled and approved in advance
- This position does not guarantee a full-time schedule
